BTW folks, the second name of the pair would be the middle name, so if it was Amber Alisa, we would just call the baby Amber everyday, Alisa would just be her middle name.

Please tell your friend to reconsider on this selection! Does your friend really think that the name Amber will still suit her child once she grows up? Out of all of them... I'd choose Kelsea Rose, since I like the spelling (I have two female friends both called KelsEY, but I like that variation well enough, even though there must be at least four ways to spell it), but Kelsea Kate sounds a bit... same same?

If you want my honest opinion, Amber sounds like a stripper's name. If your friend likes the way precious gemstones sound, tell her to choose another. And I'm not fond of the AA, KK, thing. Then again that's just me. But variety is good!! :)

Clayani Marie... I don't mind Marie, that can be sweet. But Clayani? It will be shortened to Clay, and she'll be teased like ANYTHING about it. (My name is Astrid -middle name is Elizabeth, so don't think I'm not being openminded here, because my first name is uncommon anyway. I'm 14 and I don't get teased about my name now, but a few years ago... age eight, nine, and ten, I was teased a fair bit because of an unusual name. Kids can be pretty cruel. I got nicknames like Astrid the Bastard, Asshole, etc.) The last three letters of the name, "Ani", could be cute.

Meara is unusual. I've never heard of that name. I'd prefer Keara, Kara, Kiara, Kira, Kirra... or Tara, Lara, Etc to Meara. It reminds me of the noise a cat makes: "meow!" What about Mia? That's nice.

Well, I hope I've helped. Sorry to be blunt, but that's my honest opinion. Please value it :)

Good luck and best wishes to your friend for a safe and successful birth!

Not sure about Clayani- it will be shortened to Clay, if you would like the child to be named after moddelling material, I like Amber Alisa and Meara Rose best

Has your friend thrown a load of scrabble pieces up into the air and made names from the letters that landed face up ?

Great Idea. My mum and dad did the same

Splinty Ogre.

Amber Alisa - the best of a bad bunch.

Depends on the surname of course. We had a difficult time deciding on our first baby's name - we didn't know the sex but chose Arthur for a boy or Martha for a girl.
Our surname is McArthur BTW. (The baby was a girl!)

Not knowing any of your family it is rather difficult to say as I do not know your likes and dislikes or your family's traditions

Having said that I would favor Meara Rose. Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s Rose was a very common name for girls born in the South and the West. Their is even a Western Swing song Rose of San Anton that celebrates the name. Rose sort of fell in disrepute in World WarII after the infamous Tokyo Rose poluted the air ways. But we are far enough removed from that era that Rose should be a very feminine lady like name again.

OBTW my Dad's favorite Aunt was named Rose. Her sister....my grandmother.......was named Belle.

Out of the choices as they are I like Kelsea Kate. If I can change the names around though, I'd pick Amber Rose. :-)

Amber Alisa - at least it can be pronounced and spelt correctly. My name has many spellings and its only my immediate family that ever get it right... how about Amber Rose?
