They have become a majority-they congregate and push their views upon OUR lives-they are nothing more than a gang who say they worship a God of Peace and yet 2000 years of WARs-mostly started for their want to have control-show that they WANT Control-Their President is a DICTATOR in IRAQ-his interests are not for the good of THAT country but OURS! Those people are "Not Guilty" by association because of Hussein-and should be allowed to VOTE if they want the US in or OUT don't you agree?! With everthing!

I think the best way is to explain why the separation of church and state is the most important pillar protecting democracy and the freedoms we enjoy. And explain that those Christians who want to remove this pillar that they are in fact opening the door to the eventual adoption of sharia law and the caliphate in their country. Explain the denial of democracy and freedom in sharia states (info on sites such as jihadwatch.org), and link these atrocities to the absence of any separation of church and state. If we allow ourselves to consent to the unification of church and state we will find ourselves back in the dark ages very quickly. The various sects of monotheism will not be able to agree among themselves what laws and punishments should apply, and will this will result in complete chaos.

First of all, the religious-right is a minority. But, when there's no one to fight this minority, their voice often reigns supreme.

Do you really think the majority of this country feels the same way they do? No, they don't.

The reason they neo-con's have so much power is that no one cares enough to oppose them.

And, with a "Born Again" in office, their power is somewhat magnified.

The rest of your gibberish about Hussein and stuff just doesn't make sense.

Oh, and to the person who says ' So it's only ATHEISTS that can run the country?'

Listen, there are states in the US that BAN Atheists from running for office. We're actually discriminated against. So don't bring that Atheist crap into it.

I think you demonstrate a lack of knowledge about why the States went to war, the process that was used to do so, the present status in Iraq and most of all the fact that hundreds if not thousands of US soldiers could get killed in a precipitate withdrawal!!!

Whether it was right or wrong to go in.

Whether it is right or wrong to stay.

Any withdrawal must be that which is being planned - carefully planned - carefully staged - and constantly reviewed all the way through.

Blind opposition to the war and calls for immediate withdrawal stand to kill more Americans than have been killed so far.

You are right in your imagination.
If Saddam Hussein is not Islam, why you say your President is Christianity. Politics has no relation to religion; politics is human worldly activity concerning temporary affairs, while religion is eternal education concerning the Kingdom of God. Religion teaches love, peace, decency; any man acting against these teachings they are not believers, although they may bear some religious names.
You better broaden your learning and vision, in order to see things with your own eyes and make judgement based on your intelligent mind.

I don't know that we can get rid of it in the government, because I have found that no matter how crooked any politicians may be, they subscribe to some sort of religious belief, mostly Christian ironically enough. However you may get rid of their right to say the pledge of allegiance, or In God we trust on currency, or for the politicians themselves to say anything about God in a political setting, but you will not be able to remove how their morals and religious beliefs guide their actions. So.....????what do you propose we do start breeding non-religious test tube baby politicians.....lol!!! j/k but seriously if everyone seems to think being able to display your religion in any setting is wrong for Americans, yet African Americans who happen to practice their Swahili religions, Indi and Arabs, and whoever else wears their religions out on their sleeves is not shunned in anyway. In high schools all over the country Christians are not allowed any prayer time whether they wish to or not, because it is a display of their "religious beliefs and that would show bias in America" Why let people of Arab and Indian descent wear turbans, or veils to cover their faces, that is a display of religion, is it not. Anyway my point is if your going to be getting rid of religious bias in government, schools, and any other public venue you can think of where it's supposedly not appropriate for such things then do it fairly and to everyone. Which I'm sorry to say is probably not going to happen.

the bible says that one day government will ban all religions. and one of them is not going to listen because gods laws come before mens. and those religions that go to war and are hypocrites are part of the false religion, meaning that there is only 1 religion pleasing to god. ephesians 5: 5, 13

Iraq is being run by a piece of paper. They are use to a man. Most men in our Congress are believers, who don't impose their views on others.

I think that this question is going to raise a lot of controversy, especially among those who have family members or friends serving in Iraq.

Yes religion and politics are bad bedfellows. They need to be separated...only the ballot box can accomplish that feat. The rest is the propaganda fed to the public to control the masses and keep the war going.

In a free society you cannot stop the religious right any more than they can stop you. That's what democracy is. Now if you want to promote communism, islam, or socialism, you must go to a different country to do it because it's not our way of life here in the good old US of A.
