If the puppy isn't going to survive, it can take from 2 days, after bloody stools appear, up to 10 days of Hell.

Canine Parvovirus is 80% fatal if left untreated, and even with treatment, there are fatalities. Depends on the strain of the virus, how big the puppy is, whether or not you get treatment for puppy - which I hope you do, or euthanize, it's a horrible way to die otherwise.
I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician for over 12 years, and have seen and treated more Parvo cases than I can count - including over 50 in the past year due to an outbreak in a local pet store chain.

It just depends. All puppies with parvo do not die. I have a very small chihuahua/mini doberman that survived parvo at only 6 wks old. If you suspect your puppy has parvo get him to a vet ASAP, so he can survive! Treatment is the key!

It depends on how bad it is and if it is getting treated for it. Some die in a week and some take a little longer.
Why do you have a Parvo puppy? If so I am so very sorry to hear.

depending on the age of the pup. a very young pup doesnt have good chances. parvo is really hard on them. it usually takes about 2-3 days after you find out if it is a young dog (1-2 yrs old) it is quick!!

It just depends on the size and weight of the puppy, larger dogs do ok and a lot of the time they can be saved, with iv fluids and the proper medications. Smaller dogs have a harder time, and they don't always make it, if left untreated they probably won't make it a week.

untreated, it could be a matter of days.....please don't say that you're going to let one die that way, it's a horrible death.....euthanize it before letting it suffer if you can't afford the treatment. Also it's HIGHLY contagious.
