im planning on getting one. but i want it.. somewhere like not visible. so its a surprise for my boyfriend. also i would like to know what design would be hott?

Well, I'm not a guy, but
I would avoid the base of your spine, it's become such a cliche and it has developed a bad connotation, i.e. tramp stamp, hag tag, slag tag, etc...
Try on the front of your hip bone, right below your belt line, above your public area, belly button, ankle, or side of your hip. Really, your options are limitless on where to put it. Then look for something small and feminine that means something to you, like your favorite flower, favorite animal, hearts, or whatever.

Personally I think it depends on a woman. I mean, depending on the tattoo as wlel, I think it looks good around the abdomen on some women, but if you ever plan on having a baby, or end up getting overweight, it's not a good look, because it stretches and looks horrible.
Personally the best looking (but sadly fake) tattooes are on Jaime Pressly when she played the character "China" in the movie Torque.
I'll post the link below. She also has this big spiderweb on the back of her shoulders with a tarantula in it.

Not many women can pull that off and get away with it though. Lower back is good, and so is the backs of the shoulders so that the tattoo rolls nicely and doesn't look squished up and grotesque when you move in a certain way.

The tattoo on the lower back is now called the tramp stamp and is overly trendy.
Go with the tattoo just about your pubic hairline. Something like a butterfly or a little devil.

a sexy spot is of course right on or just below the belt line. but personally i like down the rib cage. as for what to get make sure that its not something that might come back to haunt you. id go with a kenji or chineese sign for something that describes you

Tramp stamps are a little played out now! Besides your b/f will only see it if he's doing you anally or doggie style! Get a titty tat or something above ya pubic bone! Design is totally up to you!

I agree with DW... avoid the tramp stamp. Just above your pubic area with a little demon pushing a lawn mower into your pubes like he's mowing your lawn, and always keep that little patch shaved.

a little one on the small of the back. nothing to big or masculine though, that will drive a guy away.

as far as design, can't say as it matters too much, but the small of her back is pretty sexy.
