I had braces for 2 1/2 years. Take Tylenol or another painkiller before you go to your appointment--it will delay/dull the pain. Yes, it will hurt. It may not hurt immediately, but it will set in. It usually only hurts for around 2-4 days after the appointment, though. Ease into eating solid foods--I don't mean you have to stick to oatmeal or anything, just nothing too tough right away.

You can usually pick colors. Do NOT go with yellow or white, though! Light green is a problem, too. These all make your teeth look dirty or yellow. Also, be sure to keep them super super clean and to not chew non-sugar-free gum or taffy-like candy . They may pull your rubber bands off, and that will hurt.

Good luck! It's worth it in the end, trust me.

hi! I just got my braces on like a year and a half ago and just got them off like 4 months ago. But anyways, getting braces on is the easiest thing ever. I was nervous about it, and as always it turned out to be nothing at all. They will let you choose the color of your elastics. And just a tip: dont get yellow or white or a really light color, cause they can get stained and they make your teeth look yellow. so ya. But it is simple and no it doesnt hurt. and after a couple of days you cant even telll if they are there or not. Sorry this is long, but dont be worried it doesnt hurt at all. And before you know it they will be off!! Now the thing i am worried about is getting my wisdom teeth out in a month, haha but that will end up being nothing to worry about either. I am such a worry PUss. lol well good luck.

You can choose the color. They can be the comon silver braces or they can be white (because are made of porcelain, they are esthetical, I have them!) or there are some braces that go behind the teeth. If you put the porcelain braces, you can choose the color of the wire and in any case you can also choose the color of the rubbers. At first, they hurt, and you have to eat soft food and liquids, etc. but then, you are going to get used to them.
Good luck

You have to have those bands on your braces, so you can pick colors or just get clear. They didn't hurt at all getting them on- but that night they probably will, and for a couple of days after. Just take some motrin or something and it will be better. It'll be kind of hard to chew your food also, since it will hurt, but it will be gone in a few days. Good Luck!

P.S. I had my braces off almost a year ago and I'm letting you know that you'll be so happy that you had them!!

Your brackets and wire will be silver. They'll let you choose the color of the rubber bands that are used to tie the wire down. Will it hurt? Getting the braces on won't, but you're going to be sore the next few days. Take some tylenol before you get them on, and that night. Trust me, it's not going to be amazing for the first week, but it gets better.

It is dependent upon how unhealthy your overbite is. If it is not that unhealthy, your orthodontist possibly going extra effortless on it. They by and large tighten it probably the most in the course of your final yr of dressed in it besides I believe, so that you would get your elastics in the course of your final months. Some folks, I feel, nonetheless have overbites even once they take their braces off however the overbite is solely so much smaller than earlier than. Like me, for an instance. I had a major overbite so I needed to put on a headgear at residence the primary time after which my ortho gave me elastics too later. You might ask your orthodontist immediately why he is not giving them to you. They're quite stressful however it is well that you've a wish to straighten your enamel as quickly as feasible.

It depends. I went to a specialist when I got my braces, and I didn't get rubber bands around the brackets. My brackets opened and closed so that the wire could be clipped into it. Your teeth hurt, but only for the first few days, what you need to be prepared for is the brackets hurting the soft part of your mouth. When they rub against your cheaks and lips you can get sores, but those go away within a couple of weeks too.

Well, my orthodontist let me pick the color of my braces, but you live somewhere else and it could be different. And yes, the braces will hurt for about a week but then after awhile you'll forget they are even there. Good luck, and when you get them off, you'll be so glad to have straight teeth. All the hottest guys will swarm all over you, like all the hot girls are swarming all over me!

I have braces.

You can pick the color, the braces are silver but you can pick the bans that go around the brackets. I always have silver, but you can pick what ever color they have.
And sometimes it hurts a bit when the get adjusted or just put on. But it really is worth it.

if u are talkin about the actually wire it's self u can either get the metal or the ceramic (which is clear) - i heard that the cermaic ones are more expensive and are more fragile meaning that if they break often, u wear the braces longer. so i got the silver.
but if you're talkin about the actual rubberbands u choose those- and i suggest silver cuz it doesnt show as much or clear [but those stain easily]- i choose not to pick colors bc i dont want ppl to be lookin at my mouf that much.

AND YES DAWLING IT HURTS! i dont mean to scare you but i got my spacers in- hurt like h*ll, then the actual braces hurt for another 2 weeks....and if u get power chains [which i have in now] it hurts just as much as if i just got them on
