ok, I have a Derringer over/under 357 mag. It looks like a typical Derringer, but says Manufactured in Germany with some German name and tag along the spine of the upper barrel. On the side it says " 110 " but I cant find a model 110, so anyways : I cock the hammer back and fire the lowere shell, I cock it back again and the same firing pin is struck, thus not firiing the shell I want ( the upper ) but striking the lower again. On examining the internal workings I see the peice in front of the hammer that actually strikes the firing pin and both firing pins move in working order, but I cant seem to get this little p-o-s to work right. On the American Derringer website it is axplained that all or most derringers have a manually operated barrell selector, but I cant find any logical way to shoot both shells. so if I have to use this thing I want to be able to swtich to whatever needed chamber without much trouble. Help me out all you pros out there, no "firing pin problem" answers

Buddy, I hit this thing earlier. A derringer does not have any little lever that you use to switch barrels...unless it's some freaky little knockoff thing that I ain't never heard of...and there ain't much I ain't never heard of.
The manual selector is the hammer. When you pull the hammer back, it gears everything up to strike. When the hammer falls, it selects the other barrel.
The piece that strikes the firing pin is a transfer bar...or one of the many different names they call the same little piece of metal. The problem is in the selector...in the operation of the hammer, the selector should be moving the striker to the other barrel, and it is not. You need to take the gun to a gunsmith...those little buggers don't have that many parts, but anything with that type of mechanism is complicated. Unless you are a gunsmith, I do not recommend any dissassmbly WHAT SO EVER!
Fingers don't grow back, buddy...

By the way, if it's German, it's probably an RG...good luck finding any info on it...cause info on that thing is few and far between...

More then likely the firearm isnt able to fire each barrel independently. Alot of the older double barrels of your type didnt have the capability to fire each barrel seperatly. If there isnt a click switch or bottun besides the safety on the firearm then it probably isnt available.

try searching for your gun at AuctionArms.com then contact the seller without me seeing the gun to look at the fireing action it makes it hard to determine the problem I personally have not heard of a selector switch my derringers had 2 triggers

As much as I hate passing the buck, I'd recommend posting your question on the "Shooting Forum" of the website http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/

They have the biggest collection of gun nuts on the web that I've found. Post what markings and add a pic and I'm sure someone on there can tell you all about it.

Check it out. Good luck.

Like any other mechanical problem, I'd have to look at it to give a "good answer".
