People who don't believe in GOD must be really strong. I know we as humans don't really know why we are here or how we got here. But isn't it a beautiful feeling to know we will end up somewhere great after this awful world. Heaven sounds better than NOTHING or HELL. Weather there is a heaven or not, I feel better thinking there is something out there like God and heaven than nothing at all. What do you think?

I totally agree with you. If we, as humans have nothing to believe in, life would seem somewhat pointless.
I have had my share of trials and tribulations and if it wasn't for my belief in God. I don't know that I would be sitting here typing today.
No one knows anything is "Definite" It's not possible no matter what we read.
But it our choice to believe or not.
In my life, religion was never shoved down my throat. My family (R.I.P) taught me to learn all the different beliefs and follow my heart. I chose God because I could.
Sadly, some have religion shoved on them so hard that they chose to go the complete opposite and believe in nothing.
I am very thankful for the family I had, although my time with them was cut short. I hold on very strongly that somehow, someday, I will see them again. It keeps me going in my many times of despair, with hopes to one day...understand why....
There are many definitions of "God", "Religions" etc...
Believing for me is achieving.

I'd like to believe I go to heaven when I die.

However, what I'd like to believe has nothing whatsoever to do with reality.

I'd like to believe a lot of things. But I can't turn off my brain and just make that happen.

The only reason you believe in heaven, btw... is because you haven't learned enough about your religion yet to know better. And I'm not saying that to be disrespectful. It's simply the truth. The facts are all out there. I studied them. You obviously haven't, and neither have a lot of people. But if you truly seek the truth about god, then you will do so. But you will probably be a bit dissappointed when you discover what that truth actually is.

I know for a fact that there is a heaven, however I don't believe in demons, the devil, or hell for that matter. I know because it resonates as truth in my soul and the soul whether people think so or not will not resonate towards a lie. Think on this, if God is as described in all scripture and texts no matter what religion you subscribe to, or by what name you call him, "perfect", then he certainly cannot be what some describe him to be. Such as angry, jealous, judgmental, spiteful, and or menacing, these things are human emotions, something man has put upon God to humanize him, because our minds not being able to grasp an infinite concept as perfect as God try to make him like us, but this just cannot be so because if He was angry, jealous, judgemental, spiteful and or menacing then he certainly wouldn't be perfect. Well atleast that's my take on things.

When I was a very young child I was terrified all the time because I thought that my death brought an end to my existence. I am very relieved to know that there is a Heaven and Hell. Not sure where i'm going but I trying to earn the way to Heaven.

No, we are not alone.

If it works for you, I have no problem with you believing it. I'll be honest -- I consider believing it to be stupid. But that's for you to decide so long as you're not trying to push it down my throat, which you have not. So I respect your choice, if not the result.

I prefer reality. I can see a clear chain of naturalistic explainations for every step from the beginning of the universe through to the beginning of galactic structures to the beginning of stellar structures to the beginning of planetary structures to the beginning of life and the eventual evolution of man -- all without the need of a deity. Since I see no need for him, I see no reason to believe, and by extension, no reason to believe in any of the ideas associated with a deity, such as afterlife, reincarnation, heaven, hell, miracles, etc.

While I know you don't agree with me, thank you for your respectful question and respecting my choice, even if you don't necessarily respect the result. :)

depends on how accurate our version of heaven is, and which persons version/view of heaven we are talking about. some dont sound all that wonderful. some views seem extremely boring, others make heaven to be a very materialistic place. and if heaven/hell do exist i dont think heaven will be all that wonderful, unless you dont remember anything when you die. they say heaven is a place of happiness with no sadness, however if you remember those you love and you watch them make decisions, and you know some of them go to hell, how could u possibly be happy? id rather die to nothing to be eternally split from my family and loved ones anyway.

Everything in our imagination is mere nothingness.
All the successive Messengers of God taught that the One True God is the Creator of all worlds and creatures visible and invisible. This is real. This is the truth. All we have to do is to learn their teachings, to conduct a decent living, we will become fully aware of our relation with God and with His creation. We are not alone.

I think heaven would be a bore. I believe in reincarnation. I believe after you die, you are left to contemplate on the life you lived, maybe check in on your loved one once in a while then, when you are ready move on in to your next life.

Blessed Be

A wise man once told me, the creator of an object is always greater than the object that was created. I know it sounds strange, but if we sit back and think, we were created by a higher power and that higher power made us so we could give glory to HIM. The only way a person can recognize if there is a high power is to seek a relationship and become spiritually connected.
