what happens when that much water vapor is released into the atmosphere through hydrogen fuel cells?

There is no possible way to comlpetely understand the outcome of so much water vapor being released into the atmoshphere.

Lets say that half of the cars on the road used hydrogen fuel cells and the other half used gasoline. In high traffic areas like Los Angeles you could have some very nasty rains falling down.

Someone who manufacturs them is not going to admit that it may be harmful to the climate if it could cost him millions of dollars in lost revenue.

Hey. Good point. No one has proved that fossil fuels are as bad as they say they are, just as no one has proved that Hydrogen is good.

Volcanoes release more gas into the air than 1/10 of 1% of all automobiles and factories combined since the beginning of the industrial age. Is that bad? Maybe not.

If there's a lot of water vapor released in the air you get rain. Think of the surface of the ocean evaporating into the atmosphere. The rain would not occur at the site of the water vapor, but wherever the jet stream moves the clouds So do you want damp air to breathe or hydrocarbons?

The truth is that water is so abundant that even if you covered the earth with water-vapor emitting cars that it would make no difference. Before the water-vapor could become a problem you'd run into problems with the heat generated. And in this new Utopian society (without green-house gases), this heat would just vent into the cold dark space that surrounds our planet.

But it is all fiction anyway.

So because *you* don't understand the science of the fuel cells, no one should give them a chance? Why not call someone who manufactures them and ask them this question directly? Unless one of them happens to be on Answers, the responses to your question will be politically or ignorance tinged. Or, try searching scientific journals and their databases for the information you are looking for.

Edit: Sigh.
