From the left's reaction, you'd think they were asking voters to cough up a kidney!

Some one complained 'ID is not free'. GA tried to pass a law that would have provided STATE FUNDED photo IDs to all voters, and liberals still opposed it. They even offered to take the equipment to the voters so they didn't even have go the a government office to get the ID. Under these rules, the only ones the IDs could inconvenience are those attempting fraud.

Well, I'm left and don't think it's necessarily bad. many states are starting to require it. On the other hand, we need to make sure US citizens are aware of the new requirement and have ID(which must be cheap or free). That's to make sure that people are not disenfranchised(the revocation of, or failure to grant, the right of suffrage (the right to vote) to a person or group of people.) Our country has long preserved the right to vote for our citizens and the American Revolution which led to the birth of our Nation was fought largely on that principle

Note: ID is not free in Colorado, where ID is required to vote. It costs a little over $4 and lasts for 5 years. That seems more fair and I realize in many places, the cost is much more-and that's unfair! I really believe a state ID should be free when it's required to vote.

The people that complain the most are Paranoid... SUPER... ULTRA,.. I mean everyone I know in reality offline.. in person,.. that has this stance seems to be like " The Government THIS,.. the Aliens THAT,.. Conspiracy.. *pace, pace* Shh! They can hear us!!!!"

I can think of some negative points though, that I doubt they think about.

1. Everyone is always stealing your ID >.< Atleast this is the luck with people around me. What happens is you need it when dealing with some Government Services, or Applying for certain Jobs,.. or trying to Enter something Government related like working in a Government Building or Joining the Services ( Milatary, Army, Navy,.. etc.),.. The people that work at these places around here are as smart as the people that live around here so what happens is they steal, lose or throw away your ID all the time. It's very ANNOYING,.. but noone can do anything about it they just don't believe you and tell you to go get another one,... which can be quite difficult since they like the ID your replaceing as a form of ID XD Airlines do this to Passengers too some times,.. and Jobs like to do this to people under 21,.. I do not know why,.. I just know the people around here,.. even Doctors are incompetitant. [I REALLY need to MOVE, I'm working on it.] So with so many people lacking their ID... you can see a problem there.

2. Those Ordinary people that volunteered and went to great lengths to work as the people helping you Poll. They some times turn out to do some very bad things,.. could you imagain what would happen if bad people found out they had an opertunity to write down the Social Security Numbers for hundreds or thousands of people without them being allowed to argue. And reporting those people is a Joke,.. the last few Elections there were alot of Screw Ups,.. the people you call to complain are just more Volunteers.. so they would be like " Oh, that's my best friend,.. we're sorry you think such and such happened but it didn't *click*". Again the people where I live suck,..

3. Stolen ID,.. YET AGAIN! Only this time the Thieves useing people's edited ID cards. If People could have had Dead people that had died 200 years ago signed and voteing in the Election as they wanted them to,... why not Dead people IDs and Victims of muggings, too?

I could think of more reasons but the fighting in reality made me blank out.

I do have to say this,.. ... have you ever watched a person find out they had supposedly voted about two dozen times in an election Already (even though they just showed up to work straight from work) for Bush and one Issue but nothing else?

AFTER POSTING: Laura ID is NOT FREE,.. it cost more the less verification you have but just as expensive per item the more you try to get at once. What happened to someone I know is they had to order a Birth Certificate Copy for the same or Next day from where they were born to get some other ID because their mother had gotten sick and destroied everything important like that,.. so they had to pay the shipping plus for the copy,.. then they had to pay for whatever they wanted which was very expensive too,.. so it probably ended up costing them hundreds of dollars for everything they got.

Because of how its enforced in some places, and enforced differently in others, and because requiring people to carry all this specific documentation to vote could be seen as a hassle.

Also, many people claim it's racist, or unfair to certain groups of people.
