Rushdie is a former Muslim who wrote the "Satanic Verses" as a critic of the Islamic religion. Mohammed initially said that only Allah should be worshipped and no one else. Then he said that the daughters of Allah should be worshipped, thereby contradicting himself for the sake of attracting pagans who worshipped the daughters to the religion. After that he took back what he said, saying that Satan made him do it.

I did not lnow he was I knew that the islamic leaders put a fatwa on him saying that any musim should kill him.
