How can we Win???

Question

We are fighting a war on Terror! We are fighting in Afghanistan, in Iraq and infact the world over!
Can we win this war? If yes how? By using all our military force? Or by dailogue? By dicussion?

you will NEVER win because no one has EVER beaten terrorists look through history. you are not only fighting guerrilas you are fighting people that will gladly blow themselves up on you just to get you out of there

We can WIN. Through out history terrorists have been fought and beaten.
For starters, the worst terrorists the USA has ever know is the KKK. The Klan was a reactionary insurgency originally composed of beaten Confederacy veterans. The Klan grew beyond the South by playing on people's fears. Where the Klan was not confronted it grew. Where the Klan was challenged it shrank. Now it days, it is 'sort of ' exists, but rarely is effective
I certainly hope that the Iraqi insurgency does not last 100 years. But the Iraqi insurgency (and in general, all Islamic extremists) will flourish where it is unchallenged and ignorance is enforced.
What defeated the KKK? Its principals were false, its brutality was disgusting. The ordinary mainstream white people had no use of it. All people everywhere have much more important things to do with their lives than to waste them fighting and blowing themselves up. Hate always leads to failure. Its a painful lesson and it take courage to reject hate and embrace acceptance.
If the people of Iraq want to live in peace and safety and there is no reason to believe they want this insurgency, we must help them isolate and minimize their enemies. The insurgency is an enemy of the people of Iraq just as much as it is an enemy of the USA.

Flush the Geneva convention down the presidential commode. This is a war, how come the terrorist are the only ones treating it like one. If civilians are killed, that's terrible, but if the enemy, purposely takes the war into their cities unfortunately they become causalities of war. If there are woman and children standing between us and victory, the choice is not that hard to make. "Sorry Ma'am, sorry Jr.," next target. The soldiers at Camp Pendelton were SCREWED by their high ranking officers and our government, and it's is treasonous as far as I'm concerned! We have troops being killed, by political correctness. The greatest General we've ever had in this country, G. Patton, said " No war was ever won by a man dying for his country, they're won, by making the other poor bastard die for his!" As Dr, Michael Savage says, "More Patton, Less Patten leather." The answer to your question "Think, like our enemies: respond, like their ENEMIES."

Truly we are in another vietnam... This battle can not be won.. just ended..but.. we must.. find a way to at bare minimum put something in place comprable to what we topeled because anything less leaves more instability that was there to begin with.. and truly makes us look bad.. not to mention is not good for the people in that region.

Lest not even get into the money squandered not only on the war but the rebuilding... process which has been less effective than the war itself.

Wars are not only won on the military front. A political solution must be found as well. The US has proven its ability to readily handle any force in combat, but the politicians must find the overall solution to Iraq.

Winning this alone is next to impossible. If the countries of the world united to fight this war the chances would increase dramatically.
