okay this is a really stupid question and i really dont know why i am asking but can cats and dogs breed together? i know stupid. but seriously!

Not yet. But if they continue to evolve to be similar to eachother, maybe in a few hundred millenia they will. People have bred together species once considered completely different before in order to get the traits they desired into, say, cats for example. You never know.
