Are the Canon digital Kiss N and digital Rebel II cameras the same?

The EOS Kiss Digital N (Japan) is the EOS Digital Rebel XT (US). Same camera, different name on the outside, warrantied in different countries.

There was a EOS Rebel II, not a digital camera. That came out in 1992.
