I recently joined Bally Total Fitness and I always forget to ask what other plans they have. The guy kept talking about this plan that I have which is called "Premier Plus" So that's why I didn't think of asking about other plans. (Which is stupid of me). People who want to sell stuff to you just want your money. So I signed up with a $150.00 fee. So here's the plan:

Me joining is 52.00 a month
Adding my boyfriend is 16.00 more
A total is 68.00 a month for 3 damn years.

So we decided that instead of me paying $52 and him $16, we pay 50/50 which is 34.00 per person so it would be fair.

So what do you think of this plan? It's a 3 year contract, so by the end of the 3 years, we will be paying a total of $2448.00. That's a lot of freakin money too. And the guy said that after 3 years, I can renew it for the both of us for a total of 35.00 a month.

Good idea? Or bad idea? Well I can't change it now, the contract as been signed. But I would like your opinion.

Thanks.

+I'm 18 years of age, college freshmen. And I sit a lot since I study and eat. That's probably the main thing.

+I've gained a lot of weight from it

+the gym is near my school and with my membership, I can go to any Bally's.

+And I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have babies, get married, etc. anytime (but I like your answers) :]

Please read this whole answer.I know it's long.
As far as the weight gain goes calculate your basal metabolic rate(I'd love to give you a link but it's considered spamming to do that).Once you know your BMR consume less calories than you burn per day and try(I know it's hard with school) to split your meals into 5-6 smaller meals per day while cutting back on carbohydrates. This will mitigate insulin secretion.Too much blood glucose will trigger a large insulin secretion. The glucose that's not needed then nor can be stored as glycogen will be coverted to fat and stored in adipose tissue.
You've already signed the contract so you might as well make use of it.Weight training followed by cardio is by far the best way to remove fat.The weight training will deplete your glycogen stores then your body will be more likely to burn fat as fuel(ketosis).
Lastly, exercise on an empty stomach, eat more protein(because of its thermic value) and try to eat less processed food.Just do it and good luck.If you know anyone who's pre med you can run my answer by them. All of this information has been collected from clinical research and years of training.
Honestly,I would suggest looking for a World Gym or Powerhouse in the area.Ballys is okay but it's almost as much a fashionable yuppy hang out than a gym.Working out is most likely the key to your weight loss dilemma.Working out together will not only be a nice change of pace for you and your boy friend but you can spur one another along as you go.

If it's still soon enough you may be able to call in and cancle on their policy (the papers you signed). My husband and I paid (in a high cost area like Seattle) 50$ per month for the both of us to go to 24 hour fitness. Sometimes there is no or 1/2 off joining fees. You can always go to a gym and ask for a week free trial and tell them to get off your back about signing up b/c you want to check it out. You have to be assertive with this Used CARSalesman like people, they make more money off NON ASSERTIVE PEOPLE. If you think you love that gym and don't want to go anywhere else then go there.

My problem with signing up for 3 year contracts is that ANYTHING could happen in 3 years, you go to another town to live. you get married, you have babies, You lose your job, you have bills that came out of nowhere. so i prefer MONTH TO MONTH meaning you can quit and stop membership at any time no contracts, no obligations. That was our last one with 24 hour fitness 50$ for both of us per month, quit any time. and we did.

In the past, i've signed up for lifetime memberships, or 5 years, etc. and they went out of business every single one of them and took my money with them! GRRRRRR

You will get tone if you kept doing that eventually.... but if you want to get ripped it's all about diet. 70%diet 30%exercise. What do you like full body workouts or Weekly splits? They both work. Mon: Chest/Tris Tues: Shoulder/abs Wed-Rest Thurs-Back/Biceps Fri: Legs/Abs Sat: Rest Sun: Rest It's possible....but you won't get that ripped look without cardio at most.

I know a better diet solution. Try Weight Loss / Hoodia Sample. It helps suppress hunger and control appetite. Just be careful where you get your Hoodia sample. Here's a website http://www.upkb.com/weightloss.php for the product details.

If you have room to use equipment at home then bad deal.

No room for equipment at home, decent deal. What else could you really do?
