Which shampoo do you find adds a lot of volume and shine but is not terribly expensive? Also a conditioner that doesn't weigh your hair down? Mine is naturally straight and not extremely full.

It doesn't have to be really cheap, I just don't want to spend $18 on a bottle, max of 14. My hair is also quite oily, I don't know if that matters much.

I hate to break it to you, but proffesional shampoos and conditioners are the ONLY way to go. I recommend Nexxus because it is a proffessional line and it is not too exspenisve (like $11 a bottle). I would recommend Syntress Volumizing Lift Shampoo and Enphuse Protein Conditioner from Nexxus. They smell great and make your hair AWESOME! Brands like Herbal Essence and Pantene may make your hair shiny or FEEL smooth, but they are actuallly damaging. Those cheap products contain a lot of wax to coat the hair so you THINK your hair is shiny, smooth, and healthy, but it is just hiding all of the mess and breakage. DON'T BUY THEM!

Okay I have straight flat hair as well and the very best thing that I have found is Infusium 23...I have oily hair and I use the one in the green bottle for moisturizing! It does great and doesn't weigh my hair down like other shampoo and conditioners. Also doesn't dry out my ends! Aussie makes a spray gel that works well with the Infusium line... makes my hair very shiny! just spray in while wet comb through then blowdry!! Great results everytime. Good luck.

I can answer your question, but what do you consider expensive? I use Terax Delicato which is 12 bucks a bottle, but you don't have to use a lot of it so it lasts a long time. Any conditioner by Fredrick Fekkai is fantastic, but a bit pricy, I think it is 18 or so a bottle. They are both great products that you can get both at the beauty store or online.

Suave works really well.

I've also just recently switched to Matrix Curl Life. This will add a lot of volume and give it a great shine. Unfortunately this one is a little more expensive than Suave.

I always liked Pantene - or Thermasilk. You just need to make sure you strip your hair once a week so you don't get a "heavy hair" wax buildup. You can do this by putting a raw egg ( or mayo) in your hair for 2-3 minutes, then rinse it out, and wash as you normally would. This worked well for me - but don't do it too often...find a good balance for you, or if your hair starts to get weighed down, do it then. :)

Nexus has the best thickening shampoo it is about $10. You should use Sexy Hair's soy leave in conditioner it does't weigh your hair down and it condition and strengthens your hair as well.

I have been using Tresemme for the past 6 years and it provides all the volume, shine, and conditioning that you will ever need.

Affordable too! Good luck!

You want to go to Pantene Relaxed and Natural products. The are reasonably priced, and smell wonderful. Also, they have ingredients that help your hair to grow as well.
