*chuckles* honey if you only knew what you were in for. yes i waited the full 6 weeks... i think 8 or 9 actually. i did get a lil horny at times, but it wasn't that bad. you have to think, you have a new born baby, fussing, sleeping, feeding, etc. ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT! you don't have time for sex. 6 weeks will go by in no time. please wait the 6 weeks. it's very important for you body to heal. also it is EXTREMELY easy for you to get pregnant again in that period of time

I have given birth 3 times... I waited the full 6 weeks after the first one, about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks after the second one, and only 2 1/2 weeks with the last one. It really depends on how you feel... not your husband/significant other. Your body will let you know if it's too soon. Good Luck!!

With my first I waited the full six weeks. It was tough on both me and my husband. With my second we waited 4 weeks. I know that sounds bad but that is what we did. I think it is best to wait the full time especially if it's your first baby. You are gonna be too tired more than likely to want it and your hubby will probably be as well.

I had a c-section and was supposed to wait 8 weeks! Yeah right! We had sex at 3 or 4 wekks after birth. We couldn't wait anymore! :) It was alot of fun with the exception of trying to keep my milk from coming in (it happens sometimes when you get aroused so soon after birth). LOL! I had to wear a bra during sex, but other then that, it felt nice to be close to my husband without a big ol' belly in the way! Just go slow, and enjoy every minute. I'm sure you will.

when i had my last baby i didn't wait we had sex around the 3rd week and i had a tear with over 29 stitches and i wish i would have waited it was painful and my body ache for a couple of days after so i suggest you wait until after your 6 week check up to make sure your body has healed

Out of four pregnancies, #4 was the only one that I waited with, but that was because I had to have an emergency c-section that took forever to heal. Even when we did finally have sex again, my husband acted like he was afraid to touch me because of everything I had to go through.
If I remember correctly, with #2 we only waited 12 days! LOL
Good luck!

No I didn't wait. I think I waited like 4-5 weeks, I felt ready at that time. I think alot of it depends on how quickly you heal from giving birth.

Without being too graphic...You are only supposed to avoid vaginal pentration. Oral is great at this time and will help you get through the 6 weeks. Maybe you you move your 6 week checkup to the 5th week and after you get the ok from your doctor:NOOKIE TIME!!

I'm counting in months rather than weeks... I had a 3rd degree plus partial sphincter episiotomy, and am still sore. Thats aside from the tender boobs (I'm breastfeeding), lack of sleep, concern over lo, sheer exhaustion. But I'm loving every minute.
Good luck with your delivery, and enjoy your new arrival, and with resuming your sex life, whenever that may be...

I did & so should you your chances of infection increase by nearly 70% if you don not wait, if you have a episotomy or tear you will need to wait longer. You will be soo tired you won't have much of a sex drive anyway!
