I know how to curl my hair, and I prefer hot rollers to curling irons, though I can use both. I use a 3/4 in. barrel curling iron since it works the best. A thicker one worked worse. I can curl other people's hair, and they can curl mine, but for some strange reason, I can't do my own. Any suggestions?

here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-
curl with iron or rollers
put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves
braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves
put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves
use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves
use mousse
scruch it with gel
get a perm for a more lasting solution

good luck

Try Bed Head Uptight Curl Maker. Spray on hair prior to drying/curling. Use a diffuser and don't comb curls out after curling.

I have the exact same problem. If you wash your hair right before you curl it, it stays longer. Also use hot foam rollers instead of a curling iron and use the little sized ones. When your hair's wet, rub mouse into it, blow dry, put the curlers in your hair, and spray with hairspray. I like Big Sexy Hair hairspray.

I know this sounds gross, but your hair will hold curl better if you don't wash it on the day you want it curly! You hair needs the natural oils and it will respond better to heat and take the shape of the curling iron or roller or whatever better if it is dirty!!!

spray the hair with a hairspray and comb it through gently. Maybe you're just not holding the curling iron long enough.

Wash your hair with a curling shampoo, then use gel or mouse before you curl your hair.

i'd recommend going to the nearest salon and see if they have any products besides hair spray (it might be expensive) i know this might be stupid to say but you can also try towel drying your hair but do not use a brush or comb use salon products and let you hair air dry ?? it might hold a curl better without brushing or combing

IF YOU WANT IT CURLED WHY DON'T YOU GET A PERM AND BE DONE WITH IT. CURLING IT TAKES TOO MUCH TIME ANYWAY
