Because there is a direct connection between the redemption of Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, it is extremely dangerous to confuse the work of the Holy Spirit as Vicar of Christ with the position or work of any man.
It was not until the eighth century, however, that the particular title "Vicar of the Son of God" was found in the fraudulent document called "The Donation of Constantine."
September 5, 2000 called, "Dominus Iesus." In that document, he boldly decreed that the Roman Catholic Church is the only "instrument for the salvation of all humanity."
The "Vicar of Christ" is able to recognize no authority other than his own. He looks upon himself as Master of all, and boldly proclaims, "The First See is judged by no one."
What do you think?

I agree, The "Vicar of Christ" is able to recognize no authority other than his own. He looks upon himself as Master of all, and boldly proclaims, "The First See is judged by no one."
And, that Vicar is the Holy Spirit, not the pope or any other human.

Vicar = a person who acts in place of another; deputy; Pope regarded as earthly representative of Christ.
Holy Spirit = Third Person of the Holy Trinity, not a representative of Christ. Three distinct person in One God. Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Biblical Proof Petrine unique ministry : Mt 16:18-19, Lk 22:32, Jn 21:17, Mk 16:7, Lk 24:34, Acts 1:13-26, Acts 2:14, Acts 3:6-7 Acts 5:1-11, Acts 8:21, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 15:19, Gal 1:18, Peter called by name 195 times personally, more than all the others combined. Peter's name always listed first in Bible with others, in position of leadership.
Pope is the Servant of the Servants.

Luther and Calvin denied the Apostolic succession of the Popes and in order to do this they also had to deny the role of St.Peter too,the shame of this is that Jesus appoints Peter as His earthly representative and the reformers not only usurp the authority of St.Peter but(and this is very heretical) that of Jesus Himself! The mind boggles at such blatant pride and disobedience. The fact that the Catholic church has had an authoritative and visible head(Pope) suceeding from St.Peter has meant that the Catholic church have always had an unbroken line of magisterial teaching that has kept Catholicism together for 2,000yrs, while Protestantism with over 30,000 sects have never had this and cannot even agree on doctrines. God bless.

The Holy Spirit is not the "Vicar of Christ". He does not "take the place of" Christ. The Holy Spirit is fully God, as is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.
Jesus Christ is God, but also man. He is the incarnate God, the God-in-flesh: the man-God, if you prefer. God chose to show the sanctity of the material world that He created by assuming matter itself! And not just any matter, but human flesh. Our faith is about God-made-man, about God who assumes human nature fully.
This being said, God uses human instruments as means of bringing His salvation to the world. All grace comes to the world through the mediation of the Sacred Humanity of Christ. God continues to use men today as instruments of His divine grace.
When we say that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ here on earth, make sure that you understand what is meant by that term before attacking it. "Vicar of Christ" means that Christ chose to confide His authority to a Church, to the Church that He founded, and that He wanted that Church to be guided and governed by a man (thus, once again, the use of human intermediaries) who would represent the unique, divine authority of Christ, for us here on earth. The Pope has no authority as a mere man; but He has all authority in the Name of Jesus Christ. That is the key to understanding his role.
Authority, Jesus made very clear in the Gospel, is not to be seen as a "power to dominate" but as a service. This is why the Pope is called "the servant of the servants of God", and this is why Pope Benedict XVI began his pontificate by stating, "I am just a humble servant in the Vineyard of the Lord". True service is a service in love. That is the true sense of the role of the Vicar of Christ here on earth. It is not a coincidence that Pope Benedict's first encyclical letter was entitled, "God is Love". That is at the heart of the Mystery of Christianity.
Hope this helps you in your search.

The previous popes as well as the present pope is used by God. Just as God, by the Holy Spirit spoke through people in the Old Testament and in the New Testament(acts of the apostles and other NT books), and just as the Holy Spirit speaks today presently through the 12 apostles for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints for the mormons, so the Holy Spirit speaks through the pope today for all Catholic Christians. Just as the pastors, and bishops and teachers of evangelical churches have the Holy Spirit speaking through them for the evangelical christians.
God is a spirit, a Holy Spirit, and those that worship Him as God worship Him in Spirit(in the Holy Spirit) and in truth.
The Holy Spirit speaks today through many teachers and rabbis, etc etc to convey the Truth to many religions of the World.
And this Can Not be refuted, without lies!

The Holy Spirit is the eternal Spiritual Vicar of Christ. The Pope is the physical or material Vicar and has limited tenure, that is why there is the law of succession in the papacy.

The Holy Spirit is God. The Pope is just like any other person that God chooses to send His Holy Spirit to. No more, no less, except for the fact that the Pope is charged with helping to make sure a billion+ Catholics aren't led "astray."

The Pope will never be the substitute of Jesus or the Holy Spirit. No way! It is sad that people actually worship him or feel that they have to go through the Pope to reach GOD. Only through Jesus can you get to the Father. Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through ME." That "Me" is Jesus Christ and none other. The Pope is NOT a substitute of Christ.
Plus, you will NEVER find it in the Bible where God gives the Pope the right to be His substitute.

A Vicar is a person who takes care of the castle while the King is away. The Pope is the true Vicar of Christ because he takes care of the Church and was given that role by Christ Himself.
