Yes, there are so many things you can use around your house to curl your hair. It depends on your hair type and the type of curls you want to achieve. For example, I have thick hair that curls easily so I just braid my hair while it's wet, put it up in a bun, sleep with it like that and when I take it down in the morning, it's curly/wavy.
You could also do pin-curls using bobby pins or strings of fabric to make smaller curls. Directions on how to do those are here:

I have also heard of people using aluminum foil, but I've never personally used it so I can't vouch for its effectiveness.

This may sound crazy but use long socks.....My friend had try it and her hair look so cool and very pretty..... This is how you can have great curl..
By Using the socks like you would use hot stick but make sure the hair is wet then after you roller you hair using the socks..Then just sleep with them over night then the next morning if you hair is a little wet just use a blow dryer but put it on low . So, it want Frizz... then after you hair is dry then just take them out...... Now you have great curl and they will not be tight curl either.......:D
It really works...!!!!

Never use foam rollers they cause hair breakage due to the foam draws the moisture out of your hair. Use plastic, snap on rollers, with the smooth barrel. Use larger rollers for looser curls, try just rolling up the ends or rolling your hair halfway up .

If you hair is long enough, you can wrap it around empty coke cans, put clips on and blow dry...
The heat from the dryer will heat up the cans and give you tons of volume
