No one can pinpoint the year because King Arthur has never been proven to have existed. He could possibly have been based on a real figure, or have been inspired by Celtic tradition. According to kingarthursknights.com, his grave was supposedly discovered in the twelfth century, which, if he existed, would put him in the Dark Ages. (The Dark Ages began around 450 or 476 A.D. Some consider them to have ended around 1000, others not until the Renaissance.)
