when a mom has aids, that doesn't mean that the baby will get them. in fact, there is a great chance, that with early treatment, in utero, the baby will be ok
and to answer your question about my questioon "ok to get pregnant while depressed and on prozac." your answer was
r u sure u want to have kids with this condition
yes, people do and can have kids while depressed
why am i depressed? I had a stillborn son. so yes, we wanted kids and we do so now even more. live ones would be a plus.
i was 5 months along when i went into labor and he came out still. so please be a liiiiiiittle more sensitive when u answer people's questions, especially if they have the word 'depression' up there.

Children born to HIV/AIDS infected mothers do not automatically get the disease. The child "sheds" the mothers immune system and develops its own over time.I do not know the "protocal" for treatment in that childs country for pregnant women, but in USA the mother can be placed on antiviral meds durring pregnancy to reduce the transfer.Durring delivery she is given an IV drip with AZT to also prevent transfer. The child is placed on AZT the first 6 weeks, then Bactrim an antibiotic, the following 6 weeks to protect child incase they are possitive. The child gets a PCR test at 1month,3months,6months,then again at 18months.To determine if he us negative or possitive.Usually if he is possitive at initial testings it is an indicator he will remain so.And if he is negative that indicates he doesnt have disease.

I didn't hear that was how the baby's mother died. But just because the mother had a disease, doesnt mean the baby will be born with it.
