First off you need to talk to your social service department. They will go over all of it with you...Alot of states allow you to have both, and they use his insurance first, then bill remainder to medicaid...good luck...

In my state, you can't have both.

In fact, Medicaid usually requires you to attest that you don't have other coverage somewhere else.

However, in this case, since you are not paying premiums and you are separated, you should simply just not file with your husband's insurance. When you go to the doctor just tell them it is a Medicaid visit and don't offer them your husband's policy number.

If a provider has billed both your husband's insurer and Medicaid, the provider may get in trouble.....not you.

It depends on where you live. Some states will let you have both, some states won't. You'll have to call the number on your medicaid card and ask.

Talk to the medicaid folks. If you hid your other insurance coverage from them you can get into BIG trouble.
