Carol who? you need to give us a little more detail but judging from your question and how vague it is, she probably left because you don't say whats on your mind and she never knew you missed her. Since you are just now deciding to bring this up.

only you can answer that... did you let her know that she means so much to your life? that you would ache if she went away? maybe you were lacking something that is why she left you... just the same, there is no sense in crying over spilt milk... please move on, dont let memories hinder you from being happy. just let go and try to be happy and not dwell in the past... best of luck....
