Most of the time, metabolism has everything to do with it. At others, teenage girls do things to their bodies that they shouldn't. The best thing to do if you think you are out of shape or unfit is to just exercise and eat healthy. I'm sure you are a pretty woman though, don't worry about how you look! :)

If you want to get skinny, You should never diet! I know the pro's say they do it, but dieting can mess up ur system. Try doing palates. Try getting up early in the morning and just walk barefoot on the grass. Morning meaning like at 6 o'clock or something, when there's less traffic....

1. Eat a variety of foods, especially fruits and vegetables. You may have a favorite food, but the best choice is to eat a variety. If you eat different foods, you're more likely to get the nutrients your body needs. Taste new foods and old ones you haven't tried for a while. Some foods, such as green veggies, are more pleasing the older you get. Shoot for five servings of fruits and vegetables a day - two fruits and three vegetables. Here's one combination that might work for you:

* 1/2 cup (113 grams) strawberries on breakfast cereal
* 10 baby carrots
* 2 broccoli spears
* 3/4 cup (170 grams) fruit juice
* 1/2 cup (113 grams) salsa with chips

2. Drink water and milk most often. When you're really thirsty, cold water is the No. 1 thirst-quencher. And there's a reason your school cafeteria offers cartons of milk. Kids need calcium to grow strong bones, and milk is a great source of this mineral. How much do kids need? About 800 milligrams each day if you're 6 to 8 and 1,300 milligrams if you're 9 or older. To give you an idea, here's a list of foods and drinks that would add up to the 1,300-milligram daily goal:

* 2 cups (about half a liter) of milk (600 milligrams of calcium)
* 2 ounces (57 grams) of cheese (300 milligrams of calcium)
* 1 cup (227 grams) of yogurt (315 milligrams of calcium)
* 1/2 cup (113 grams) cooked white beans (120 milligrams of calcium)

You probably will want something other than milk or water once in a while, so it's OK to have 100% juice, too. But try to limit sugary drinks, like sodas, juice cocktails, and fruit punches. They contain a lot of added sugar. Sugar just adds calories, not important nutrients.

3. Listen to your body. What does it feel like to be full? When you're eating, notice how your body feels and when your stomach feels comfortably full. Sometimes, people eat too much because they don't notice when they need to stop eating. Eating too much can make you feel uncomfortable, and over a period of time, it can lead to unhealthy weight gain.

omgosh! Tell me about it. and you know what? I've also found that they totally vanity size stuff! I used to be a size seven, but I found that I'm a five now. It's pretty sad.
um....
No! Some girls are completely obesessed with their weight, but most of the ones I know have brains and realize that if they eat correctly and exercise they're good.
Seriously, if I knew how they did it, I would probably just laugh.
I know so many people who go on crazy weird diets that don't help at all. I knew a girl who wouldn't eat cheese...talk about strange.

The girls I know who are healthy eat right and take a run around the neighborhood a couple times a week.

No joke. And what sucks is that I used to be one of them. Yeah, I was working and going to school around the age of 18 or 19, so I was always moving. I was a skinny little thing! And I could eat whatever I wanted!

But then I got a desk job where I sit ALL DAY and it has caught up with me. I mean, I still look good, but I'm 3 sizes bigger than I used to be. And 30 lbs heavier.

So I guess the answer is, as always, eat less and exercise more. But good luck finding time & motivation once your life sets in!

It's all about their genes. Some people are just that way. I have seen some that I am sure don't eat, which is not the answer by the way. But don't fret, they maybe that way now but 15 years from now their bodies will dramatically change. Believe me. Once you hit 25 all kinds of weird things happen to your body and the things you used to do to drop five pounds quick will make you gain 10 real quick. Just keep a healthy lifestyle and stay physically active. That will help you alot in the long run. And besides, guys like curves, I promise!

well....i am 20 and i am a size 3. i don't really do much of anything t stay thin. i eat whatever i want. i eat junk food, and i eat healthy food. it's all about how people's bodies digest food. some people r born with skinny and no matter what they eat they r still skinny. but some people need to excercise and eat healthy. most times young girls bodies digest food quickly. in some cases though they don't. u just gotta find a diet that works for you and get involved in a gym or some sports. and there's a good chance u can lose more weight.

I'm a guy who used to weigh 190 lbs, I now weigh 155. I eat burgers, cereals, basically I eat more than the average person should be, and I never gain a pound. Before I couldn't touch my toes or anything I can do now. How do I do it? Excersice, exercise, exercise. I get on a bike thingy at the gym for about 20 mins everyday, lose about 300+ calories, and other things. Does that help?

If they are like my wife, its simple! They don't eat, and when they do, birds out side consume more. My wife barley eats and I Pick all the time " Honey, How am I going to love you unless you weight a 125 lbs" I am only playing but at the same time, I want her to eat and be healthy, you know!

Well, most of them at the mall now aren't actual teenagers. They're probably like 8 or 9.

They have not fully developed, and you shouldn't compare yourself to them. If you really want to lose weight, diet and exercise. But I think a personality goes a longer way than a smaller waist size.
