Sit down & make a list of your out go & your in flow of money.
If you can save any where, write it down. If you need an extra part time job, get it. Cut up your credit cards & only buy something if you can afford it. Then you can rest in the knowledge that you are doing the best you can.

It depends on what the real problems are, if any. There are many things that can help. But it seems like the first one is to relax and calm down. Do things that calm you. When you have cleared your head a bit, think about what you spend money on, and if you can change your spending short term and long term to save some of your money, so that you start to gain a "safety cushion."
If you haven't defaulted on your credit card, and your account is at least "ok" then don't get yourself hyped up. Stop charging things. Only use it for real emergencies. If birthdays come up, write a good card, don't put out money that you can't afford. Focus on grounding yourself in financial well-being, not spreading yourself so thin...
If you buy a lot of "stuff" even little things, try to go without. Of course that can be hard, when you are accustomed. But it's worth it. Sell old CDs, or clothing. Get rid of as much stuff as you can bear to. While you're doing that, straighten up one little area in your home. If that makes you feel better, keep doing it. It may be another cure to calming down...

There are details missing in your question that would be pertinent to giving a universal response. For example, you do not reveal the nature of your "obsessing" nor do you highlight the key components of your "financial situation". However, on the assumption that you are expressing concern about seeming deficiencies in either your income or your available credit, my answer is: First, make a list of absolutely everything you owe to anyone. This helps you organize and establish priorities. Then sort the items into categories, the most important being those items which can "bite you in the butt" so to speak (those which pose dire consequences if not paid asap). The items which can wait a few days or weeks, place in secondary status, to be dealt with in a timely way. Get a free copy of your credit report (can be acquired by applying for credit and getting turned down, or on the internet), so you can determine where it is and then compare to where you want it to be. If there are small items that can be dealt with easily by a single payment, get them out of the way in one fell swoop. I liken this process to caring for a garden. For those items listed which are beyond your means, I suggest writing (or having an assistant/secretary write) letters to either negotiate, dispute, or explain---give these creditors some idea of your ideas and ideals when it comes to handling your debts. If you dispute any items on your credit report, the reporting agency then submits forms to the company(ies) in question to reassess or reassign, which sometimes adjusts things in your favor. I have found that simply writing polite letters to debtors is highly valuable in terms of being treated fairly and with consideration. I hope these suggestions are useful to your situation.

Make a choice to stop obsessing on the negative, and find the positive to work with. Everything in life is a choice. Once the choice is made, the decision comes and is made. Make a choice, make a decision, change your life. But make certain it is positive, negative decisions only wind you up repeating the same monotonous cycle over and over again.

If you make some progress on it, even in a small way, you will feel better and will stop thinking about it as hopeless. Small steps!
