Sarin. VX. Nuclear weapons. Whatever happened to a good old-fashioned man to man war? What happened to chivalry?

Chivalry was hardly that, if you care to look for where you think that was. First, knights were wearing armour - hardly anything the peasants who were conscripted had. Very soon the bow and arrow (especially the long bow) made armour very much a disadvantage. The arrows were shot from a distance by yeoman (not knights) and would down knight and horse. Hardly man-to-man.

Warfare has not ever been fair. It has always been about superior weapons, armour, strategy, number.

And when that fails, consider the New World. It was not man-to-man warfare there that killed off the Aztecs. It was smallpox and measles.

chivalry died after or maybe before southeast asia.i agree that chemical warfare is a cowards war. hand to hand combat has disappeared like the dinosaurs.ive always said that man will kill himself eventually and with the ozone layer going polluted water and the air we breath amost unbreathable man is going to be extinct.saddam hussein is the top coward of the world.he used sarin anthrax and mustard gas on his own people and covered their lifeless bodies in a mass grave.he deserves whatever punishment he gets for these acts he has done but i regret to say that he will probably serve a life sentence.however GOD does have the final judgement.

Hell Yeah! What ever happened to catchin' a good ol' fashion asswhoopin?! I get adding guns and tanks and stuff, but people were less likely to pitch war when they knew how much it would cost them in the long run. Now it's all button-mashing, no diplomacy.

We're being forced to fight that way right now in Iraq thanks to the whiny liberals who won't let us use our big guns.
