They are encouraging illegal immigration and will continue to do so as long as big business lobbies them with big money. I am in agreement that our borders must be secure. You are very intelligent and are able to see through this smoke screen with which the politicians are trying to blind us.

I guess the first question is really what would you have them HUMANELY do?
There are a few things we need to consider here. Nobody likes to remember the fact that laws take time to pass and sometimes even longer to implement.
I’m a fierce independent and by no stretch of the imagination a fan of Bush, Jr. or Sr. However, you need to be a little more up to date before you can ***** about the current state of affairs.
Bush DID just sign into effect a reconstruction of the fence that rides the US-Mexican border, something to the effect of 780 miles long, which is higher and more impervious then the current one.
Second of all, the most stringent immigration laws in the world exist in our country....RIGHT NOW. If you don’t believe me, get on a plane to England, get off a train in Manchester and hop a flight to Shannon Ireland. When you get through the multi-point checkpoints and FINALLY board the plane you'll have a more gratifying knowledge of everything the USA IS doing for security.
Thirdly, lets not forget that if it weren't for our asshole Spaniard counterparts and for the Portuguese land mongers that came here close to 300 years ago, and the 3.5 million Irish, welsh, English, Portuguese, Polish, Italian and Russian families that emigrated here at the turn of the century onwards before immigration laws were even constituted then we wouldn’t be here right now.
The problem isn’t illegal immigration; the problem is the system that poorly processes these immigrants in their native countries and the lack of knowledge on how to legally go about becoming a legal immigrant.
You cant chastise someone for wanting to evade a government that torments, assassinates, mames, tortures and kills entire neighborhoods (i.e. Cuba and various south American countries, not to mention Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Chechnya Yugoslavia and other soviet satellite countries). However, there is a system that is imperfect which does need to be resolved. What does not need to happen is the torment of individuals who are only trying to better their lives and provide for their families.
And can we please not forget, it was not illegal immigrants that attacked us on September 11. I have brothers and sisters that died in both buildings trying to save innocent peoples lives, so I know to well the horror of that day. I also know that the people who hijacked the planes were people that were ALREADY in this country.....LEGALLY, so to take out hysterical aggression on an entire group of unrelated and innocent people because of what a different group of people did is proposterous, ludicris and outright racist and elitist. If you want to argue policy, argue policy, if you want to spread evangelical elitist and racist propaganda, please dont do it here. Though an immigrant may be guilty of being illegal they are not guilty of anything else. We support our constitution which provides ALL Humans with inalienable rights, which is why we go to places like RWANDA and Somolia, these rights dont end at our back door either, they begin at our borders and move outward.
Even if an immigrant is guilty of not going through the legal and just process to come to this country, that does not give anyone the right to treat that person less then human and certainly does not give anyone the right to treat that person like a Terrorist just because you yourself are paranoid.
Paranoia does not equate to another human being guilty of anything.

That is why I am pissed at both parties....nobody wants to take on this issue "they way the people want them to". The fence is just one of the steps needed to secure our boarders.
Dems want a guess worker program, and amnesty.
Bush's administration wants a guess worker program, and later then deal with those who are here.
I live in San Diego....I see up close the harm illegals cause this country. It's not just illegals that are the problem.....
listing of the major reasons for security:
1. Illegals immigrates
2. Drugs flowing in from south of the boarder.
3. Inability to stop undesirable people from entering our country.
A. Terrorist
B. Illegals that come here to do harm (murder)

The Democrats look at the illegals as a whole new source of votes. The Republicans are afraid of angering all Hispanic voters by being tough on illegals (of course they don't seem to mind angering us conservatives at every turn).
To any politician, the good of the country is far behind the grabbing of votes on the old priority list.

Well, instead of getting upset and all wrapped around the axle about it, why don't YOU come up with some workable answers?
Furthermore, when you say 'the government', and we have We, The People, as 'the government', what are YOU doing to boost border security etc? Trying to push the job off on somebody else? LOLOL Get down there, and sign up for the US Border Patrol...pass their physical tests and the rest of it, and YOU can be the 'man in green' patrolling that border...
I'm against the whole 'guest worker' crap. I don't think we've come anywhere NEAR being able to have something like that.
'guest worker' is just more globalist hyperbole, and should be dropped like it's something you accidentally picked up in the barnyard before you realized what it was.
This is the 21st century. People need to dig in, IN their own countries, and make them better, not flee the scene.
This Congress finally put legislation on the table to start closing the valve on illegal immigration, but it's not a today/tomorrow fix.
You aren't going to snap your fingers, and have it done. But, Congress DID show that they 'get it'. Hopefully, the next Congress also 'gets it' on the fact that pretty much a majority of people are against unlimited immigration into our country. Furthermore, ANY group of people in Congress are going to have to watch against influences trying to buy them or their influence.
I think what they call 'K street', where the high-dollar lobbyists reside, is a GREAT place to start in ensuring that OUR representation doesn't get sold to the highest bidder like a pack of spare-ribs at a charity auction...if we tolerate corruption, we'll have corruption, plain and simple, so write YOUR congressman TODAY and express your views on the whole immigration business.
The speculators can go ahead and speculate, and try, TRY to market their crap to whomever, but the People have spoken on the immigration issue. Let's have more of that, and less hyperbole. Clear policy, public support OF that policy, and a keen eye towards other countries trying to steer ours around so that it services their interests instead of ours...if people don't vote, don't care, don't participate at ALL in participatory citizen-based government, then what's gonna happen...people need to get out, and VOTE, plain and simple, and also read about the issues.
That unfortunately means turning off the playstation and ESPN, though...

Steve, you are making false statements in your question. The government has been working steadily to increase staffing in the Border patrol -- I live near the border.
There was an attempt to send in the National Guard to help patrol.
There are now laws which among other things will require in the near future a passport when returning to the States.
There is an attempt to actually build a fence along the border.
So, pardon me if I happen to barf when you announce NOTHING IS BEING DONE! An obvious lieberal.

I am concerned about this as well. The illegals scream racism when we try to throw them out. No one like being called racist. So most people remain silent.
The government needs to protects its legal citizens instead of helping all these other nations.
The government does nothing due to people continue to hire the illegals.
We need to enforce the current laws. And now

Lets see:
Clinton let 'em in.
Bush let 'em in.
Clinton opened free trade with China.
So did Bush.
Clinton expanded govt.
So did Bush.
Clinton ripped away your civil rights (Waco, Ruby Ridge)
So di Bush (Patriot act)
Are you seeing more similarities than differences?
Wonder why that is?
Does it seem like they have another agenda besides the benefit of the American people - the people they're supposed to be serving?
THEY DO. It's called a New World Order and the US is subsidising it.
Think about it.

Think about it why would any one want to stop the flow of cheap labor? I mean any given American citizen would never take half of the odd jobs that immigrants take. So why stop it?
Also immigrants are not only working and helping the economy but every penny they make goes back to this country and they gain little to no benefits from their work. And I dont think that safety has alot to do with immigration and building a border( that would cost alot of money) and in doing this we would be targeting the wrong crowd.
