Geographocally it is Asia. Politicaly more Europe (is in negotiation to became a member of the European Union)
The border between Europa ans Asia is in Istambul, the capital .

Both. Most of it is in Asia though. But then Turkey wants to join the EU - so I guess you can say, based on that, its in Europe.

The little bit that includes Istanbul is in Europe but the vast majority is in the middle east. The confusion lies in the invasion of Europe by Arabs and other Muslims in the Early middle ages. The film 'El Cid' starring Charlton Heston was about throwing the Muslim Arabs out of Spain. This history seems to be forgotten and only the crusades remembered today.

in Europe and in Asia.
(Istanbul is a city in 2 continents)
The territory of Turkey extends from 36° to 42° N and from 26° to 45° E in Eurasia. It is roughly rectangular in shape and is 1,660 kilometers (1,031 mi) wide. Turkey's area inclusive of lakes is 814,578 square kilometres (314,510 sq mi), of which 790,200 square kilometres (305,098 sq mi) occupies the Anatolian peninsula (also called Asia Minor) in Western Asia, and 3% or 24,378 square kilometres (9,412 sq mi) are located in Europe. Many geographers consider Turkey politically in Europe, although it is rather a transcontinental country between Asia and Europe. The land borders of Turkey total 2,573 kilometres (1,599 mi), and the coastlines (including islands) total another 8,333 kilometres (5,178 mi).

Geographically, it's mostly in Asia (with a bit in Europe).
Culturally, it's a tossup as to whether Turkey is European or Asian.

Just a small correction to the information given by Horvathi. The capital is not Istanbul, it is Ankara.
