Dear Agnostic,
The true God, the God of the Bible, will not ask you to sacrifice your child. Everything that the Lord (Jesus Chrsit) wants us to know is in the Bible but one needs to follow the rules in interpreting Scripture.
1. The entire Bible is the Word of God, even though He used men to write down His words.
2. The Lord is not adding any more verbalized words to the Bible--no dreams, no angel visitations, no visions (Revelations 22:18, 19).
3. Christ spoke in parables (Mark 4:33, 34). Since Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1), the entire Bible is written in parabolic language.
4. In order to understand, words or phrases in the Bible, one must compare Scripture with Scripture (1 Corinthians 2:13). Until you can harmonize all the Scriptures on a particular topic, you have not come to truth.
5. The Bible is written to all people. Therefore, one must go to God (humbly) and ask for understanding of His word because He (Jesus Christ) is the author. The Bible is a difficult book because an infinite being gave it to man and man is often impatient.

I answer you Question if you can answer me this Question!
Why should God ask You to sacrifice your son? He ask Abraham to do it because he wnt to test his faith but never a time he would take Children as sacrifice, because when Abraham went to sacrifice Isaak God put already a animal in the bush! So read the bible and stop about thinking this kind of things.

Yes, you will go to jail for murder. God is not going to tell you to sacrifice your child because he has already provided the ultimate sacrifice in his son, Jesus Christ.

The Lord would not ask you to do that & don't bring up Abraham & Isaac. We are in the 21 century & God won't use that to test our faith .God already gave us His son Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice.

God does not ask you to hurt your child.
Matthew 18: 5-6
And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
