It was a very eye opening film. I think that as Christians we have tried to water down, or down play the brutality of the crucifixion. It's not good for the "kids" to be faced with a very real account of how Christ suffered and died for us. I think it is a shame that we have taken that attitude. Wouldn't we be in a mess if christ had felt that way? It was a great movie.

It is an Anti-semitic presentation of Jesus Christ. People was evermore geared to believe it was the Jews who killed Jesus. In one sense there was truth to it. The Jews were expecting the Messiah to take them out of their ignorance of the Law as it was written in the Book of Torah. In the beginning, Jesus immediately changed the importance of the Sabbath Observation and he foolishly claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath. In the Book of Numbers it is clearly stated there that God does not change his mind and does not lie. Then, in many Chapters and Verses of the Old Testament, God always claim He is alone and no One besides Him and no One before Him. Clearly for Jews, those statements he made were blasphemous and deserved to punished by the rod and subject to the floggings by his men as it was written in the Book of 2 Samuel 7:13-14 when God said How His chosen one can be called His son and He the Father.
His crucifixion is done by the Romans because his popularity is becoming dangerous to their government so they took advantage of the Jewish hatred against Jesus and the washing of the hands by Pilate was just to tell the Jews, it is not him who decide to have him killed but the Jews. The movie ignorantly show what really transpired there and of course as you have seen from a drunk movie maker about his rant against the Semites.

I thought it was a good tool to meditate on the passion of Christ. From what my pastor told me, he didn't think it was descriptive enough, but was limited by the interpretive portrayal under Mel Gibson's direction. Also, it had some definite Catholic theological interpretations, but they were minor.
The flashback of Jesus as a boy and being comforted by Mary when he scraped his knee, was brilliant according to many.
And the portrayal of satan with the imp was novel and did not detract from the narrative.
Overall: excellent to good.

It was done well, for a movie. I think it opened alot of people's hearts to believe. Although, it lasted only for a minute. It stills holds strong to those non-believers you saw it. I don't know if I'd really watch it again. In all honesty, they could only tell the story so much. Movies can't and do not tell the absolute 100%.

It was amazing. Im not gonna lie, I definately cried. And yet, that movie doesnt even come close to the real torture Jesus must have endured when he sacrificed Himself. Although, it does put things in perspective. Every time you sin, it's another welt from the whip on His back, and another nail in His hand.

The direction and acting and sound and costume and settings were awesome. I especially like the way they depicted Satan as an androgynous, pale, skinny washed-out entity.

However, I think it was a terrible movie altogether. Watching a guy get beaten up and bloodied and tortured for two hours isn't my idea of a movie. That's a snuff flick.
