American may have won the actual fighting and replace Iraq's government. But many in Iraq, ordinary citizens or the so called terrorists are not very supportive of the new government being placed there. American troops can suppress their actions, but cannot change their thinkings.

WE ARE NOT LOSING THE WAR!!!!!!!! There are not as many militants as there were before, Saddam is in prison, and we kill more of the militants every day. The only reason that people think that we are losing is because that is what the MEDIA says. They only show it when OUR MEN are killed. They only tell half of the story, just like vietnam. We lost vietnam because there were just too many of them to fight, and the media severely damaged our soldiers' moral along with our citizens' support for our soldiers. The media only shows what might sell their station or show. "We are winning" doesn't make near as good of a story as "More of our soldiers die, and the president doesn't even care"
Get the point? Democracy has spread to the middle east. in that alone, we have already won the war. All we have to do is a little clean up. It WILL take time. Don't get me wrong, some of our men will die, there will be problems, but we have terrorists right here in the good old USA. Remember Oklahoma City Bombing? There may be obstacles, but we ARE WINNING THE WAR!

The USA has yet to figure out that wars today are not like WWII. Most are guerilla wars or terrorists wars with no central authority and no rules. We're like the British of the 1700's marching in straight lines with red coats on while the colonists hide behind cover and don't follow the "old rules of engagement".

War is hell!!! If you want to fight a war you must be prepared to lose a lot of personal. Take the war to the combatants and the hell with collaterial damage. You can't tip toe through a war.

Wrong! It is because we have abandoned the concept of Total War. Vietnam and Korea was the fist of America's long string of military campaigns influenced by politics. Politician's need to stay out of military affairs and allow the Generals and Admiral's to run the military and the way wars are fought. Iraq would be a very different place TOMARROW if we suddenly re-adopted the General Sherman/ Total War concept.

We are losing the war because it is a religious war that has been fought for years. It will always be a war torn area the Middle East. Saddam at least kept the radicals under some control. He should have been left in power to at least control the crazies over there.

Lack of support by the citizens of the U.S.. We elect the president and congress, and wrong or right they make decisions. The Military is nothing more than the last tool of our leaders. While we as citizens should hold our leaders to a higher standard and expect them to look for and find every option prior to sending in the military, once committed, the military has to be allowed to win. If we lose in Iraq, as we did in Vietnam, it will not be because of the inability of the military. It won't be because of poor decision making by our current leadership. It will be because the people of the U.S. cannot find the intelligence to recognize the difference between the day before the war started, and the day after.

America is not loosing the war. liberal media only portrays it that way. if you were to see the schools, water treatment, sewage systems and all that goes into rebuilding the infrastructure on the news every night it would be that the war is going well. and to put it bluntly, it is the iraqi people that are loosing not the USA or the insurgents. and who is killing them. poor ignorant murderers who can't seem to realize if they would just go away for a while the USA would be on it's way home. first name MO last name RON.

Please, I do not want to hear Vietnam again.
Going in, Bush said this is a different kind of war. We are not losing. We just have to know when to hold and when to fold. It is time to fold.

Bush said so himself, in so many words.

Democratic govt. has been installed, their army has been trained, the police force is there for them. So, it is time we say good bye. Hopefully, the terror stops there and it does not hit our borders.

In this type of religious wars, there is not end in sight. We just have to call it quits and get out. I think Bush is doing exactly that.

Conquest of Oneself excels the victory over a thousand others in battle. Why are you going to battle?you can't even control yourself, can you prevent yourself from sickness and growing old?when you are not able to control yourself to conquer yourself, what makes you think you are able to control others, the urge to control will make you miserable and create more problems, learn self control before you destroy the peace
