help & support file not opening at all and the left panel of the search window doesnt show anything

when i surf the net, the sites are not opening properly and IM msg box is totally blank when i do chat on yahoo...do i hv to reload windows xp again??

even my norton interent security shows system status as refreshing and the widow remains blank no matter how long i keep it open

You probably have a virus or spyware, but it's hard to tell. Your computer itself might be messed up.
From what you said, your computer is REALLY screwed... wouldn't hurt to try reinstalling Windows XP. If that doesn't work, take your computer to a repair shop (or buy a new one if worse comes to worst).

You can go back to restore from a previous date that before you had this problem Its called system restore.
