It's been 11 days now since i got my tattoo. The yellow and green ink are fading. It's dark in some areas but like faded in another area. Some people say that this is supposed to happen and it'll look better in another week. Is this true?

I can't go to my tattoo artist because he has a shop in another state and only came to my state for a week.

It still isn't healed all the way yet. Let it finish healing. Then, if you still aren't satisfied get it retouched. They take about 3-4 weeks to completely heal. Oh, and make sure to keep scentless lotion on it to keep it from drying out, and don't scratch it.

I wouldn't worry cause it isn't finished healing. Even after a few weeks of healing tattoos can be very dry and that causes them to look faded. Put unscented lotion on it twice a day or whenever it seems dry. When you get rid of the dryness it should look brighter. However the quality of ink can also greatly affect it if it doesn't get better you should consult with an artist. Also when its done healing, make sure you put sunblock on it for at least the first six months to prevent fading from the sun.

p.s. captin trips, your an asshole

Its not done healing and often, as the tattoo heals, you will find a few spots that need touching up. If the tattoo gets dry it dulls the colors a bit, so be patient and keep it moisturized. If you explain to a tattoo artist your situation, they should be rather nice and help you out. Just don't pick or scratch it, it'll make it worse.

Yes, if in 6 months your tattoo looks odd or fades even more, then be worried.

The good thing about a Tattoo is..... you can always go back to have the ink/color touched up. So even if it does fade, you can get it fixed.

I wonder what you are putting on it cause anything other than A&D Ointment or Bacitration is bad. If you are using just lotion or neosporin or anythign else you probably screwed it up.

Of course when you get it done that day it is very vibrant and it will fade a tad but to me it is sounding like it is fading alot. Hopefully you arent using the wrong lubricating product. Also do not let it get exposed to the sun at all for at least 2-3 weeks to ensure it is healed.

The tattoo artist if he wasnt a great on could have barely inked you also. His needles could pf been set at the wrong depth, he could have used cheap ink. All these things need to be researched and or discussed with the artist prior to getting the tattoo. A good artist will offer you touch ups after the work is completed and started to heal to ensure maximum client satisfaction!

It ususally take 30 days or so for a tattoo to completely heal. Mine did the same thing yours did and turned out fine. Be sure to keep it moist and not let the tattoo dry out.

Your skin has to heal. It develops a scab, and then exfoliates off, then the color looks brighter. Keep some Neosporin on it or Tattoo goo.... it will be fine. Wait six months and see how it is.

The color isn't fading it is setting. Give your tatt a chance to heal completely before you freak out. All tattoos get a little dull when healing.
