So my boyfriend & I are trying to decide what to have for dinner tonight....I need some ideas for really CHEAP meals....that don't require a lot of work....Right now, our solution is totino's pizza (hey, you can't beat 98 cents per pizza!) Any other good ideas? I don't get paid until next Wednesday......so it has to be CHEAP!
Thanks!

Canned Tuna always does the trick with crackers or making a sandwhich....or you can get some of the romain noodles and add ham to it or just by itself....grill cheese sandwhiches...hot dogs....even those frozen pot pies are good and cheap...

Go to the FoodTV dot com, they have a ton of recipes, as do the major food companies, Campbells, Pepperidge Farm, Betty Crocker, Pillsburry etc. ALL have plenty of free recipes (using, of course THEIR products, but you can substitute store brands or generic brands to save some money).....these places also let you keep an online recipe box, which you can access 27/7. I can't tell you how many "keeper recipes" I've found on these sites......Good cooking, glad to know there are still some people who actually USE their kitchen for its intended purpose!!!

Southwestern Skillet Bake
1 pound lean ground beef
1 jar (16 ounces) Thick 'n Chunky salsa
1 can (11 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 ounces)
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix
3 eggs
1. Heat oven to 400ºF. Cook beef in 10-inch ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain. Stir in salsa and corn; heat over medium-high heat until hot.
2. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the cheese. Stir Bisquick mix, eggs and remaining cheese in medium bowl until blended. Spoon batter around edge of beef mixture, leaving center uncovered. Sprinkle with reserved cheese.
3. Bake uncovered about 20 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in topping comes out clean.
Substitution
Use Green Giant® Mexicorn® whole kernel corn with red and green peppers instead of plain corn to add even more of a Southwest twist to this skillet bake.
Substitution
Don’t have Cheddar cheese? Use the same amount of another cheese you have on hand.

If you like Chicken. Here it is my favorite "Chicken Bake". for2. . Thaw out 2 pounds chicken, remove fat. dice chicken into 1/4 " cubes. Cook up some plain white rice. you wanna have: seasoned crutons, cheese soup 1 can, cream of chicken 1 can, sour cream 1 cup, 1 pound of celery, a 2x6x10" pan to final bake. Make sure to butter up the pan so as not to stick. Put the rice(about 2 cups cooked) In the bottom of pan. Put raw chicken on top of rice evenly. Add celery evenly. In a seperate pan heat up the cheezy soup, the cream of chicken soup, and the cup of sour cream. next poor out the contents over the chicken and rice blend in the 2x6x10" pan. Heat your oven to 375 F. Cook for about 25 minutes then put your crutons on top(crushed or not). Heat for an additional 3 minutes to heat up the crutons. Enjoy!!!!!!

Take hot dogs and split lengthwise. Place on a cookie sheet and broil till nice and brown. While that is happening, make instant mashed potatos. When the hot dogs are done, place a nice size scoop of potatos on each one. You might need to 'smear' it all over the dogs. Then place a long wedge of cheese on the dog and broil till melted and a little brown. Simple and easy -- should cost you about $3-$4 depending on the brand names and it might even go for 2 meals if you add salad or vegis.
