I have a large collection of slides (10,000) that I would like to transfer to a digital format and add to my PC. Is there as easy way to do this, or some piece of equipment that would do the job.

Check with any electronic or computer store. They make a small slide convertor. Looks like a pyramid with mirrors inside it. You place it over the slide on top of the scanner's glass. It reflects lights back through the slide so that it appears to the scanner like a normal photograph. You then scan it like you would any other picture. They are not expensive.
