this story happened this week. A 19 year old with lymphomic-cancer (i think i misspelled the word tho) was supposed to undergo surgery last week to remove the tumor, but he prayed for St Charbel and the next day he was cured. The doctors did scans and xrays and stuff and couldn't find anything there anymore. The kid was dying and now he's cured. The Vatican sent people to investigate and to decide if this is a miracle

As a new Christian and new to the congrigation i was asked to take part in remodeling of the church building... I declined because of a long standing sore shoulder that made it impossable for me to reach and move without a lot of hurt.... one evening in the mens meeting we all were gathered to pray for a man who had a seriouse illness... we were around him praying and I felt very strengthened by the force of the prayers being offered... I offered mine as well for this man... I did not even think of my shoulder and even on the way home and the rest of the evening... when I got up the next morning I just got up and went to work. As i was loading the mail sacks into my truck i realized that I was just throwing them without thinking about the pain... It was not there... I had full movement without pain... When I got home that evening I called one of the men form the Church who had been at the meeting and told him waht had happened... He asked me how I had prayed for the man who was ill... if I had been sincere in my prayer...I said that I had indeed and had been very moved by the prayers of the others as well... I was told that is the way God works sometimes...He will answer a prayer even if it was not knowingly asked... God knew my need and had a purpose for healing me... a few days latter I was on a scafold putting up the new ceiling in the Sanctuary... with no pain at all... that pain has never returned and it has been over 6 yrs now...

In January of 2003 my heart ruptured. Most people die within minutes. A blood clot stuck in the hole in my heart, that is what kept me alive. The doctors told my family I had only a 10% chance to survive surgery. A young doctor from Boston rebuilt my heart and he had to do two surgeries. I lot of people prayed for me. Family, friends, Catholic priest, Baptist minister and several other church groups and hospital staff. It will be three years in January on the 17th and although I can never work again. I am doing really well for a man with only 2/3rds of a heart.
True story.

I only have one instance where my prayers were so fervent and it was so noticeable that they were answered.

Last year I was so desperately depressed. I was in a long loveless marriage with three daughters (all teenagers). My husband was having affairs and we were living in a brokendown mobile home along the Mexican border with Texas - hot, dusty and very depressing.

My oldest daughter was using drugs and skipping school, then ran away from home.

I felt old, ugly, used up and sick. I wanted to die. I was so desperate. I was having panic attacks and so much anxiety that I could not eat or sleep. I cried out to God to listen to me and help me - PLEASE!

It became a mantra - begging God to help me see a reason to keep going.

In October I met a man by chance at the grocery store late one night. He helped me pick up the soda display that I had knocked over. He had lost everything in hurricane Rita and literally had nothing but what would fit in his borrowed car. He saw me as a person and didn't want anything from me. He called me three times a day just to listen to me and cheer me. He helped me to see that the world is all out there for me and that all I had to do was grab it.

Fast forward a year. I am so happy that I cry sometimes because of what could have been. I got out of that mobile home. I got out of that town. I got out of that marriage. I gathered my children and made a new life with a wonderful partner who stands by me through thick and thin. He is intelligent, loving, respectful, hardworking, has integrity, loves the Lord and practices charity and love for everyone. My children are doing well and we attend church as a family. God gave this to me. God loves me and my family. Even in my darkest hour, He listened to me and gave me my heart's desire - "God let me be loved and appreciated and care for. Help me find my way in the world. This can't be all you have in store for me. I'll do anything." - that was my prayer.

SURE DO!
I prayed to God to release my depression and fill me with the Holy Spirit and to get rid of whatever has been bothering me.
It's been about 5 weeks and I feel refreshed, alive and ready to sing His praises
