We had a patient that was in a car accident and was impaled on a wrought iron fence. We had to cut bottom of the pole near him for the pole he was on, the sides off the other poles that were holding him. We packed the area around the wound put him on his side and transported over 30 miles to the nearest hospital. After surgery, he was fine. Had to take antibiotics to fight infection, but no major organs were hit and he lived.
