back in late june of this year a stepped on a peice of glass while at a creek. it cut a 1 1/2-2 inch cut across the bottom of my foot that was pretty deep, tissue and other stuff was hanging out. so i got stiches and laid out for about 2 weeks and slowly got back into doing my sports (mountain biking and kayaking) again. well just recently i start jogging and after about 10 minutes of jogging my foot starts to bother me. i wouldnt really call it painful, im not really sure how to explain it, but it bothers me enough to make me stop running. the painful sort of feeling is coming from where the cut was and i can feel it sort of in the back of my foot too. so my question is this painful sort of feeling from my injury?

All along the arch of your feet are the tendons and muscles that support your foot. Sounds to me like you damaged that tendon, and the resulting scar tissue is probably like a little stone in your shoe. I'm not a Doctor,I just play 1 on this site, but the next time you get a chance. I'd say something to real Dr. about what you can do. Otherwise...sticking to mountain biking is probably the option I would chose.

I would take some Motrin or Alleve 3 pills every six hours; rest your feet for about two weeks and then start jogging again; make sure you do stretching exercises for at least five minutes before you start jogging. You most like strained your Achilles tendon that's the pain in the back of your feet. Also your cut being as big a 2 inches and deep sustained some damage to nerve endings; it could take up to a year for these minor aches to disappear. See a doctor if in two weeks of rest and then returning to jogging your pain returns. Good Luck,

PS you may consider getting a road bike for exercising your legs; less stress on the body.

More than likely it is from the injury. The tissue that grew back as it healed is not as tough as your skin so it may be stretchy and causing discomfort when you run. You might try wrappy the foot with a short ankle wrap (the bandage looking stuff) to help keep the skin from pulling. You may have also torn a muscle in the foot when you cut it. As your doctor for any suggestions.

More than likely. When you cut it that deep the muscle, nerves, and tendons were damaged. The healing process created scar tissue and it is probably from the scar tissue you are experiencing the discomfort.

You need to have surgery to remove the scar tissue
