Benedryl should help with the itchy. Get an itch ointment and rub on any itchy sores. Just keep an eye on the kid and make sure they don't scratch. I remember when I had chicken pox at 7 and it was HORRIBLE to itch so much and not be able to scratch. Ask your doctor for other suggestions.

Every child goes through that stage where they get chicken pox and there is no way to necessarily make them comfortable. What i can suggest is to do what my mom did for me while i had it a couple years ago: spoil your kid, just let him/her feel happy and that way it'll be a little easier to get through with it. Good luck!

Excuse me, but where were you when the pediatrician said that your child was due for the chicken pox immunization. You've allowed your child to suffer needlessly and may leave him/her with scars because you neglected her/his shots.

You need to call your pediatrician as Yahoo Groups is inappropriate for medical advice for children.

you can bath the child with oatmill soap and also let him, or her soak in salty water, will help dry up the chicken pox
