we had a play grocery at my school it was so much fun!

save the empty cereal boxes, ans other boxes and cans ,but watch the ruff edges use dried beans and rice ,get a kids pot and pan set there are some plastic and rubber foods that look real
go to the grocery stores and get some food posters with prices on them , they will throwing them away any way , don't forget a cash register and play money ,let the kids imagination go wild

you can save old food containers and boxes. Get a shopping cart and the kids can pretend to go shopping. If you have a toy cash register that would make it even more realistic.
