Why do so many not realize that illegal means against the law? Does this mean that you want the laws repealed and the borders opened? Why do all the countries in the world have such laws in the first place? I really need to know. Why do we accept thousands of immigrant applications each month and yet still have such a problem?

I want to refine this more. There are citizens, immigrants and illegal immigrants. Do not make this about race. Illegal immigrants coming from European countries just not as many due to the difficulty to do so without the proper LEGAL paperwork. Work visas and such are still LEGAL ways to come to the US. Illegals are the ones that do not have proper paperwork. With such, are not paying taxes, many times being hurt by unscrupilous employers cutting corners and when hurt, getting tax dollars to pay for their treatment because under HIPPA laws, they may not be reported as being illegal. Yes americans break laws too. Does this mean we should abandon them all also? Lets keep this question to the facts and not racist or derogatory. This is a legitimate question.

People do not want to use the word illegal because this nation is so afraid of being sued for slander. As a country we need to realize that a crime is a crime. If people do not like their country they need to change it from within, don't come here and ask us to help. We will help you in your own country.

The USA is held to a higher accountability and are also scrutinized the most. I think that the border wall is the first step in curbing the problem of illegal immigration. We must also prosecute those that rent homes and provide jobs to illegals. Yes, the cost of living will increase but we will take back our country and have more money to spend on Americans.

The cash illegals pay into soc sec is going right into a "no fit" fund if the title and quantity don't fit. The Treasury Dept takes the ones fund to pay for federal offerings, and illegals use federal offerings. If they paid within the cash you all declare why is social defense going broke? If we're to suppose you there could be sufficient budget until eternity. But the budget they pay in will, at so much, preserve social defense afloat four years longer. Second LPR are eligible for social defense advantages and all different federal, state and neighborhood offerings. With approx $20 billion a yr stressed out to Mexico how so much would they've left to spend right here? So the client attitude is type of skinny too. IRS file- 6 million person earnings tax returns had been filed via undocumented employees. So I bet that one may not fly both. They pay taxes and get tax refunds. And shall we appear at this reality- if mexicans are such difficult employees, so household orientated, simply watching for a greater lifestyles WHY ARE THE AREAS THEY LIVE IN STARTING TO LOOK JUST LIKE MEXICO?

Honestly, I think that the American economy depends to an extent on the cheap labor that illegal immigrants provide, especially in the agricultural industry. There's a certain degree of social acceptability in being an illegal immigrant, and I guess the numbers of them are so large that it's impossible to truly regulate.

I don't think it's right, but people realize that the reality of the situation is such that we can't enforce the laws to the full extent.

Did you know that the US has such a labor shortage that if it didn't have illegal immigrants the US economy would be in shambles and China/India would have the dominate economies in the world, not the US. Without illegal immigrants you would be paying twice as much for common everyday goods & services. I'm not condoning illegal immigration but without them the US economy would be in the toilet & that's not good for anyone.

Because it is so much easier to bash Republicans for trying to keep these "poor, distraught , starving ,oppressed strangers" from entering our country by any means possible for a better life.

Most people that apply for an immigration visa understand they will be on a waiting list until their background is checked for illegal actions in the past . So I personally believe most illegals are just to afraid of what might be found or they just don't want to wait and find out.

I applaud you sir..
Not many are concerned with right from wrong it seems. Now grant you, some of the people entering our country illegally may have good reasons for doing so.. however, the way it's being done is against our laws. That was said for all others, not the one who asked this question.
Again, I applaud you sir..

My concern is that people always put "illegal" in front of the word "immigrant." Because of this, legal immigrants are getting bashed along with the illegal ones.

there are many things that are illegal that are overlooked everyday ... how about driving over the speedlimit and failing to signal when you turn ... concentrating on somthing just being "illegal" is a failure to use rational and critical thinking and giving the law absolute power ...the justice and resolution to the problem needs to fit the problem while being sensitive to the human in the situation ... otherwise we will throw you in the pen and schedule you for execution next time you go one mph over the speedlimit ...

Why do citizens speed on the highways? Why do so many cheat on their taxes? Even the president was pulled over for DUI. Citizens don't have the moral high ground when it comes to obeying US law.
