The penicillin needs more time to work - 2 hours is not enough. If your dog is drinking well, don't be worried about her not eating. Her body is telling her not to eat right now because of whatever is making her sick. If she's not better by tomorrow morning, you should call your vet back to let him know what's going on.

immediately call the vet. He can prescribe a medication in a liquid form that might be easier for your dog to digest. the antibiotic will take 24 hours before it even begins to work. Explain to the vet that your dog doesn't seem any better to you and you are concerned. He will either reassure you about the progress your dog will make in the next few days, or he will have you bring the dog back in. I am surprised that the vet didn't do any additional testing for the rectal bleeding. You might want to consider a second opinion. I would also recommend looking up the nearest emergency after hours vet clinic, just in case your dog gets worse overnight. Its always good to have that information on hand. good luck to you

Take her back to the vet, or to an emergency clinic. This is not going to get better on its own, and with such a tiny dog she doesn't have a lot of reserves. She needs medical help NOW, hopefully the vet will keep her so she can be watched and cared for. Good luck!

Do you have a dog or a puppy? If its a puppy she may have coccidia. Go to the web and look it up. Also it takes a while for any infection to stop in a dog/puppy. Their immune systems don't work as fast as a humans. Keep a close eye on her, if she hasn't gotten better in a few days, I would take her to another vet for a second opinion.

you might wanna take the dog to a different Vet...if all they did was check for Parvo, there's a problem like this that one of my dogs had and it's an irritation of the stomach or intestinal wall.....that was about 5 years ago and I cannot remember the name, but it's a nasty thing...smells too. antibiotics usually take up to 24 hours to start working in the system.....

It sounds like your dog may have eaten something it shouldn't. I would take the dog back to the vet and demand an x-ray or go to another vet. My fathers dog had the same problem and it turned out she had eaten a rock. She had to have immediate surgery.

I would get her back to the vet immediately, if it is not parvo, it could still be something very serious.
maybe get a 2nd oppinion by taking her somewhere else, I think she needs to be admitted.
Sorry I could not have been more help.

Get a second opinion.
Has your dog digested any of the tablets yet?
Keep trying, medicine takes time to set in.
Also, you need to be calm and soothing with your puppy so she doesn't get stressed out. Stress makes all animals ailments longer to heal.
I hope she feels better!

its going to take more than 2 hours. it might take like 2 days. when you've got the flu, taking once dose doesnt make it better right? try making the pills smaller, to be easier for her to take, and if she's still bleeding by morning and cant keep the pills down, make another appointment.

Call your vet again & let him/ her know that she cannot keep the tablets down. The vet will probably want to see her again & may keep her for overnight observation.
