Australia's top Muslim cleric says unveiled women are like 'uncovered meat' who attract sexual predators. "If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab (veil), no problem would have occurred." My question: why don't Muslims like this go live in Saudi Arabia or Iran? Why do they stay in the west?

I'm not saying deport them. I'm asking why people who think this way want to live with people who don't. And I didn't say anything at all about your prophet, let alone insult him.

Muslims often say that unveiled women are raped more often than veiled women. What is the source of that information? Would someone please provide the citation for the studies you are quoting? I believe rape is about power and humiliation, not sex. If women "ask for it" by going unveiled, how do you explain the cases of 80 year old women raped in their own homes?

Pretty logical question to ask, to which we muslims have no reply. I will add that to those whom unveiled women attract for sex are not human beings but beasts. What about the unveiled mother, sisters, daughters and other close relatives of such beasts?

First I would like to say yes it is more common for an unveiled women to get raped then a veiled women, but that does not excuse what these men do. In the Quran it tells the man first to lower his gave and keep chaste before it tells the women.
As for why they stay in the west, well maybe that is their home. It is not easy to move somewhere when you don't know the culture or the language. I recently moved to Egypt and it has been kind of hard for me. Not because it is a Muslim country but because I don't speak Arabic. It is hard for me to get around and do simple things like buy food. I am married to an Egyptian so I have help from his family. Otherwise I would be lost. So just telling them to up and move is not that simple.

The World does not belong to anyone and people should be free to live where ever they want. Bush does not own America even though he likes to think he does. If i want to live in Siberia or Scotland that is my choice regardless of what my opinions are. I dont agree with what he said but in my country, Britain we have a group called The National Front sort of like the KKK and they are free to say what they like without being deported. There are millions of Muslims living in the west very peacefully but one person expresses his opinion and he speaks for all of us.NO sorry!! It just doesn't work that way, try opening your mind just a crack, speak to real Muslims ask them there opinions if you are really interested and you'll find they are just ordinary people living there lives, raising there children and trying to worship God as best they can.

they r in the west, the same reason the rest of the people r in the west. for better economic conditions. u cannot have a liberal economy where u want labour force to come in without their social and moral backgrounds.
the cleric's problem, like that of hundreds of millions of muslims is not that women do not wear the veil, but that when there is hunger and poverty and loss of human lives in the world by the millions, y is the west worried about what women in one particular part of the world wear???

so why ur ppl talk about us and think :
that the veil is against the freedom and we most take it off ??
why womes in saudi arabia cant drive ?
why they get angry when some ppl draw their prophet in silly condition ?
why the get angry when the pope said a comment about Islam and insulting 1.5 billions Muslims ?
isn't that what u call it the freedom of speech !!!
or u just ask to believe something u don't even believe !!
and now u want this ONLY one muslim to move him from ur country ?
is it allowed to say anything but we dont ???

Stop and think. Not about him being a Muslim. But about what he is saying. Does a young woman getting raped at an all male booze party where they were playing strip poker at 2:30 AM get your sympathy, do you consider her blameless. Or would you say pretty much what that Imam said.
really, is that the best reason for hate you can create.

What happened to 'freedom of speech' you speak of all the time? Do you deport every person for an opinion you disagree with? Not that I am defending him but I fail to understand the world's double standards. Insulting our Prophet was OK for freedom of speech and expressing an opinion demands deporting people!
