An almost 9 minute mile is dirt slow. Hit the weights and run wind sprints EVERY DAY. I don't know what position you'll play, but you won't start unless you're at a very small school and football isn't popular. Our school didn't cut anyone from the freshman team though, so you should get on the roster. If you try out this year, and work out hard in the gym and really study what you need to know to play, you might be in the lineup on the JV team next year. If you're too impatient to do that you don't deserve to be on the team.

fastweb.com puts together a huge list of scholarships for you that might be applicable according to the form they have you fill out. The first time I filled it out I seriously got about 250 scholarships that I might be eligible for. It takes a little bit of sorting through them but there are tons of good ones. Very cool site and really good for scholarships. They will also sort through all the colleges on their list and make a list of ones you might apply to. They might also have job opportunities in your area.

There are several fantastic resource types for locating scholarships for a college junior, and it is not too early to begin searching for scholarships for some types. Join several of them and sign up for their email notification service when updates happen. Sometimes, scholarships might be on one scholarship website but not another.

First, there is the free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. You can search them now and probably locate something or give you an idea to do for next year. The best idea is to join several because one scholarship might be listed on one but not another.

Second, your high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships available to its students. You can check now, but there are probably no scholarships for juniors.

Third, study hard in school and prepare for the SAT/ACT test. There is merrit based aid for students available from the colleges themselves and also the state.

Finally, Google.com and Yahoo.com the college major you are interested in studying in college along with the word scholarship. It also works with your ethnic group and religion. Some of these classifications do have scholarships attached to them.

Remember, it is never too early to start searching for scholarships. Apply for scholarships that match you and ignore the amount since every single penny in scholarships means one penny closer to your dream of a college education.

Good luck!

Your school books and the highest possible grades!! My neice did that and she had major universities coming after her to give her free college education. The universities were Texas A&M, Harvard, and UCLA. She chose UCLA, and today sent me an e-mail announcing her advancement to Executive Vice President of a political consulting organization in Los Angeles, and she's only 31. It's great to go running after "free money" for college, but when you have them coming running after YOU to GIVE YOU 4 years of free college education, well, THAT'S the most fulfilling scholarship imagineable. And she was honored as the best student in her highschool in the 25 years prior to her graduation, and I know it wasn't any genetic inheritance, because I knew her mother, (since I'm her mother's brother), who was the absolute worst student ever in any highschool, and busted out of college after 6 weeks for partying too much. So, just get your priorities in the right order, and then bust the universities silly when they come running after YOU to give YOU free money for 4 years of FREE COLLEGE!! God Bless you.

You know what the best thing would be to take a career class... im currently in 1 n im a jr too... we learn all about pathways and colleges, universities... work force.... u get to learn alot n u get to figure out what u r most interested in and what would suit you.... or if u can;t take that the next best thing would be to go t o a college fair.. and get all the info u can.. take panphlets... reaching cards... buisness cards... ask for the college calanders and school guide books... they always have those... it good to go to a college fair because they try to convince u to go to their college....sure books and stuff might help but the best plan would be go to a college fair.. talk to representatives... get their cards, cal them and question them about their programs at that colllege.. then go through the books and calelanders of colleges.. and visit all colleges u r interested in to compare the best ones... itsa never tooe arly to plannign but it can get too late don't wait start now... and fill in the courses u need to get into a specific college of ur choice for a familiar reason like ur scholorship ur askign for.... hope that helped ^-^

I would talk to your counselor at school, or if you have a career center, the person who runs that would be a great help. Also, I would recommend fastweb.com It takes a while to get yourself set up with it, but it's worth it. They will let you know what scholarships you qualify for, the application deadline, and they will also recommend jobs in your area.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ANSWER IS "IT DEPENDS ON YOU"

What do you want to study...as in what do you want to be?
Certain schools are good for math, teaching, business, law, and such..

Make sure if you accept a scholarship for sports that it includes a scholarship that continues if you get hurt....guys don't usually think they can get hurt, and then get tossed out of school.

Whatever field you choose, make sure it is your decision and ask every guidance person you know to help you decide...and include.....your parents, and your minister/priest....because they sometimes have connections that you might not have.
....Also ask the priest/minister to pray for your making a good choice.....Hey it can't hurt.

In summary, may you choose a career that will help you develop in body, mind and spirit.
When a college offers a B.A. instead of a B.S. degree, the batchelor of arts (B.A.) offers you courses that you would not normally take, but give you opportunities to expand your life.
