ALT, CTRL and delete. Find Norton security in your processes, select it and choose END TASK. Then go to add/remove programs and uninstall it.

There are four ways to uninstall Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall or Norton Internet Security 2002 Professional Edition from your computer.
Complete these methods in the order given. If one does not work, try the next method. Once you have successfully uninstalled Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall you do not need to complete the remaining methods.

Uninstall from the Program list
1. Click Start, and then Programs.
2. Click Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall, or Norton Internet Security Professional.
3. Click Uninstall Norton Internet Security, Uninstall Norton Personal Firewall, or Uninstall Norton Internet Security Professional.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts, and then click Yes or "Yes to all" as needed.
Uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs

For Windows 98/Me/NT:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Click the Install/Uninstall tab for Windows 98/Me/NT.
Click Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall, or Norton Internet Security Professional in the list of installed programs, and then click Add/Remove.
Follow the on-screen prompts, and then click Yes or "Yes to all" as needed.

For Windows 2000/XP:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Click Add/Remove Programs.
Click Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall, or Norton Internet Security Professional in the list of currently installed programs and then click Remove.
Follow the on-screen prompts, and then click Yes or "Yes to all" as needed.
Uninstall using the RnisUPG.exe removal utility
Follow the instructions in Uninstalling Norton Internet Security or Personal Firewall using the RnisUPG.exe removal utility.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
The RnisUPG.exe utility should be used only if you cannot uninstall Norton Internet Security through Add/Remove Programs. Uninstalling through Windows does a more thorough job of removing the program.
The RnisUPG.exe utility will not remove components of Norton AntiVirus if it was installed with Norton Internet Security. To remove Norton AntiVirus, see the document How to uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2000/2001/2002.
The RnisUPG.exe removal utility is not supported. Symantec Technical Support cannot help you resolve any problems that might arise from using RnisUPG.exe.
Uninstall manually (This procedure requires editing the registry)
Manually uninstalling requires deleting elements from four parts of the operating system:
The registry
The Start menu
The program folders
The desktop

Choose your operating system, then the version of Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall you want to manually uninstall.

Depending on which Windows program you are using varies with removing it manually.
