I need to buy a program that is really good for editing and working with clips and for making videos. Any suggestions? I heard Sony Vegas was very good?

You are probably using a PC, correct?
Well, if so, that rules out some of the great Apple editing software.
So, if you have the deep pockets, I HIGHLY recommend Avid software.
Xpress DV is around $400.00 and it rocks: I know, I used to use it.

It depends on how much you have to spend. If you want professional, then you can't beat Final Cut Pro. Avid's an option, but you can do just as much with Final Cut, and Avid is 10 times as expensive.

A good combination is Windows movie maker to chop and crop and Intervideo to put in chapters and do menu, effects overlays and even burn. I use this combinationand it's fab!
