It is an amber like stone. it looks green, then blue, but when you hold it up to the light, it is see thru. Am I close? Is this the way that it is spelled? Please help!

I dont recognise this, but how about Pyrite (Malachite Pyrite)
Its green with banding and opaque, very heavy stone ! Look for a picture on the web, see what you think!

Couldn't find anything with the word as you had it spelled. Perhaps you mean "peridot" ??
