Does anyone know the name of a stone: pyrodiote?

It is an amber like stone. it looks green, then blue, but when you hold it up to the light, it is see thru. Am I close? Is this the way that it is spelled? Please help!

I dont recognise this, but how about Pyrite (Malachite Pyrite)
Its green with banding and opaque, very heavy stone ! Look for a picture on the web, see what you think!

Couldn't find anything with the word as you had it spelled. Perhaps you mean "peridot" ??

Peridot is my birthstone (August) so that's how I guessed.
