I think my boxer might have acid reflux. It seems like when she burps stuff comes up to the back of her throat. She throws up once in awhile, but it's just wet, not food...and not enough to dehydrate her. I read that terriers sometimes have this problem and that their owners give them pepcid and other antacids made for humans. I'm nervous to try those. Is there anything else I can do?

I have a dog that does this, sounds like she's gagging and will cough up stuff. No food, not typical vomit. Turned out she has severe allergy problems and this is sinus drainage that is making her gag. (Found this by taking her to the vet.)
She gets benadryl now and she's doing much better.

My dog did that also, but not until he was a senior citizen. I don't know how old your dog is, but mine was not in full kidney function during his last couple years and that played a role in the small amounts of saliva like regurgitation or vomit. It was the same way with Maverick, it would come up with a burp or even sometimes with no warning at all, and he would fling his head all around trying to get every last bit out of his mouth. That led me to believe it was probably stomach acid.

My sheepdog did this and it turns out that she had issues with the food she was on. I say take your gal to vet to find out for sure what's going on. It could be something more serious.
