WAAAA!Look at all of the big people crying about your post. The fact of the matter is those who don't have VALID and CONFIRMED medical reasons are overweight for the following reasons:Ignorance(as to why they are overweight),laziness and just plain old being a pig when they eat.
As for the person that posted about gas mileage of American vehicles,Chevy has a whole fleet of vehicles that get 30 MPG or better as well as an alternative fuel line.
Unfortunately it's just one more reason to lose weight that will go unnoticed or ignored(through denial,as you can tell by some of the answers).I found the article informative and find it interesting that people are even arguing it's validity talking about how much cars weigh.IT'S A STUDY!THEY HAVE PROOF!
I don't take offense because I never have been overweight. How offended will people be if you post a link to excessive weight and heart disease, high blood pressure or stroke?I found the article interesting though you may want to use the spell check.

No, that wont help. Considering a car weighs so much anyway...i dont see how someone being 50-100 pounds overweight would help on the gas mileage that much. Not enough to make a difference. And what about one overweight person compared to an entire skinny family? what about a vacation even if you go alone driving across several states..the extra weight from your luggage adds extra pounds. And when you compare highway miles to in town miles....i believe that starting and stopping at a bunch of stoplights would be more wasteful on gas. Someone who is overweight isnt going to lose weight to save on gas money. This is probably one the dumbest questions i have come across on yahoo answers. Think about crap before you post stuff like that and use common sense.

LOL! That's funny. It's a Catch-22. If you get thinner, you pay less for gas, but if you keep driving everywhere, you won't lose the weight you need to to save money.
You can save more than $40 on gas by walking or riding a bike more. Plus, you get the exercise you need to take the weight off.

NO, if that were the case, then why is price of gas so high in Europe? They don't have an obesity problem. America does and the size of our vehicles and the fact the larger vehicles get less than 20 miles/gallon doesn't help the prices stay low.

No it won't help. Look how many people still smoke---even though the surgeon general has been telling people it causes lung cancer for decades.

I certainly hope it will help! That was a great article - hopefully someone will take it seriously...no one likes to be hit in the wallet.
Thanks for making me smile today
