I have a 15 week old kitten, she is MEAN. She is constanly attacking the whole family and the poor dog. It has been along time since I have had a cat and my last cat was a male (he was way more mellow and loving) Is she old enough for me to get her fixed? and will this mellow her out and make her more loving? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

O yeah and we have had her since she was 8 wks old.

Actually the cat and dog get along great and when they play it is Hillarious. They take turns cleaning eachother... I noticed that the cat likes to eat the dog food, wierd. I think she is trying to be like our dog Daisy, she is little like the kitty. They seem like BFF's to me.

Some cats are more aggressive then others. There are a couple things you could try. Lots of people don't realize that you can train your cats. You need to let her know that you are in charge, just like you do when you have a dog. Right now it sounds like she's causing havoc. Try carrying around a spray bottle and when she attacks give her a spray & say very firmly no. Don't play with her using your hands or feet or anything, this just encourages her to be more aggressive, cause she thinks it's play. Kittens like puppies need to know their limits, and sometimes they don't understand that they are being 'mean' they think they are just playing so be aware of that. Don't be too hard on her she is still very young.

No she is too young to be fixed. Wait till she's six months & yes it should mellow her out some.

ok i have 2 cats a mommy and a daddy. they had 2 litters of kittens and most of them were kinda mean. both the parents are the most loving cats ever, so you ask why is your cat so mean when your other was so nice and mellow. Most likely its because it is a single kitten. he may have been taken away from home to early, or you may need to get another kitten. kittens are always wanting to play and run around, your kitten was prolly just scared, if u have a dog it could just be naturally afraid of it whether it has ever been threatened or not by it. but your best advice is to get another kitten or lots of catnip and play with him/her all the time!
~hope it helps.

She's not mean, she just wants some attention! She needs to be 6 months old to spay her. My kitty still bounces off the wall and she's been fixed for 6 months. It's just personality. But definitely fix her anyway. Give her some toys (mine goes for hour with the plastic milk jug thingy)! She might mellow out some when she gets older. Just scold her when she claws you. Good luck!

My female cat was the same way when she was a kitten, when I got her fixed she became very melow with me and my husband. However, with others she is still a little frisky but its more just play now. Then we got her declawed, I think this was the best thing I could have ever spent money on. I recommend to get the cat fixed and then declawed.

She is a KITTEN. She is doing what kittens do, playing and "practicing" for her big cat years by teaching herself to hunt and trying to "kill" what she catches. Since she doesn't have another one of her kind around she is doing the next best thing by "hunting" and attacking her family.

Spaying her may calm her down some although it most likely will not stop her from being a kitten.

She isn't old enough to be spayed yet, the average age is 6 months. Spaying will mellow her out.

She'll have to be taught what's good and bad. Don't allow her to play with your hands, although it's probably cute, she's learning that it's ok to do that. Say a sharp "NO" when she does something unacceptable.

Once she's spayed, things should quiet down.

ur kitty is just more aggressive and needs some guidance and firm discipline. Don't let one thing slip and see how she does. See what she likes. NO SHE IS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO GET FIXED SHE HAS TO BE AT LEAST 6 MONTHS OLD.
